These came from an Orissa India syringe. The other two tubs produced mushrooms that looked nothing like these. I just thought id share these pics and see if anybody else has seen anything like these.http://

I believe that's some sort of minor contamination

Really, I was kind of wondering. I have a few projects under my belt but haven't seen this yet.

Bacteria from over misting maybe.

just from what you can see, would you say this is a minor or major problem. Obviously any contamination isn't good but i think these will be okay to consume.

usually seen with PE.
from water droplets sitting on your caps.
sometimes the droplets drip from the tub's lid so some growers wipe their lids.
increase airflow.

Yup, it's bacteria. More FAE is what you need.

Frankly im not sure it's bacteria, i get the same stuff sometimes, and the spots are not slimy, and they tend to disappear when the mushroom grows

Honestly I think it just happens sometimes. Bacterial blotch on caps looks much worse in my experience. I had spot caps with creeper and cambo a lot.

The only time I've gotten those spots were from tubs with vert and or a lot of mutants. I chalked it up to either slight cases of vert or bacteria and never really worried about it

water droplets on PE caps. for me
when a tub begins to pin, I'll see condensation on the tub lids. (increased temps from the growth and growing fruits transpire a lot of moisture. My tub is in fruiting so it is breathing through the polyfil. but, I know this is not enough FAE and I should pull the polfil and fan fan fan but I get greedy and think I'll use the excess moisture to stimulate a better pinset. basic greed.
here's the beginning pinset. there are still a bunch of water droplets on the substrate surface and I know I should totally open this tub fan and dry out .. but I'm greedy for a better pinset ... so I let it go a day or two longer ..
dang ... now I've got water blotches on some of the caps. I pull the pollyfil to air this tub out.
this is the pic of my blotches
ok ... cool .. I'm airing the tub out. the water blotches don't look so bad as the caps develop. ... DAMN IT TO HELL. that spot I was worried about is, in fact, GREEN. I left this tub too long in stale, drippy conditions.
the caps look better with additional growth. I'd better harvest and dump this moldy substrate in the garden. bacteria and mold grow well in stale air conditions.
 harvest. ok to eat.
that's my story. moral of the story: too dry is better than too wet. and don't be greedy.

Just line potted plants a small hole or two in the bottom helps with over watering
