Have you thought about the Sun as an entity?

The Sun. Biggest thing in our neighborhood. 10^26 watts of raw power for billions of years and billions to come. Gave life to all of life on earth. Allowed life to turn earth into a paradise. Lashes you with rays of awesome in summer.
Revered as a God by most olden religions
Were you ever high (or sober) and thought of the Sun as an entity? Something perhaps endowed with consciousness? When I trip I swear I can communicate with it. Its an odd feeling many have.
The Sun as an entity, ever thought about that?

If it wasn't for the ozone layer we would all be dead because of the sun. Have you considered the ozone layer as an entity endowed with consciousness?

Yeah all the time. So did every religion ever, basically.
Also an entity that one day will get sick of our bullshit and explode/implode our entire universe back into nothingness.
That comic made me giggle though, have a shitty pun in return.

Thev earth's atmosphere creates the ozone layer as a protective sunblock in response to the sun's rays.
Without the sun it would be cold enough here to freeze the balls off a brass monkey. There would be no life.
The sun gave us life and nurtured us.

And the sun would "take" it away given the chance. The sun doesn't care if we exist or not because it's an object. The sun didn't give us life. Evolution gave us life. Evolution and previous organisms provided us with a lot of conditions necessary for us to be able to live with the sun and to live on this planet.

If given the chance? All the sun has to do is cough and all our electronics fry worldwide. Pole to pole saint elmos fire.
And if it hiccups it fries our asses the fuck out of our planet.
Be grateful. 10^26 watts of free energy for billions of years.
The sun is a Giver. Bam! Have it! Pure love.

If I ever start thinking of the Sun as a conscious being, I think I'll lay off drugs for good. As for being revered as a god by many in the ancient world.. Well that's what religion does. Gives people an explanation for things current science simply can't explain. Humans in general just can't exist without understanding everything. Once something can't be explained humans take one of two paths. They get science and study involved and try to understand it and others take the easier road and just take the all encompassing "Must be God" approach.
If the Sun is conscious, then me and him have some problems. That bastard needs to turn himself down in the Summer months and stop being such an asshole and frying my ass as soon as I step out the door.

I'm open to the idea of the whole universe just being a collective consciousness, but the sun alone isn't important enough (on a universal scale) for me to believe it to be an entity on it's own.

The Sun's an Angel assigned to us to nurture the life on earth. Four billion miles away, right in the goldilocks zone. The PERFECT distance for life to flourish.
Put that on your list of coincidences along with the cosmological constants and the fact that the moon fits exactly over the sun in our time.

That's not really that big of coincidence. The time frame of when the Moon could fully eclipse the Sun is around 2 billions years (few hundred million years back it wouldn't have, and over a billion years in the future it won't any longer). That's a huge window.
If it were something like 50,000-100,000 years I might say that is a pretty good coincidence.

Is the sun watching me masturbate, though? That's the real question.

The whole universe watches when you masturbate and holds its breath when you come. Angels are like that.

I'm not sure how I feel about that one.
The whole universe includes my mother...
Therefore my mother watches me masturbate. Oh god.
