Pre-marinated meats at grocery store
    #21802914 - 06/13/15 03:56 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

Hello.  Sorry if this sounds dumb or noob-ish but this is really new for me and I dont know what I should do.  Basically, you know how in a grocery market there are pre-marinated meats and meats that already have rubs on them, right?  Let's say I buy them, take them home, and I am about to cook them.  Question:  should I wash off the rub and marinade first, or leave them on the meat and cook everything together in the pan?

Thanks.

cook it all..

washing off the rub would defeat the purpose.

yea that is all the flavoring and usually some sort of tenderizer.

best idea would be to find a flavor profile you like and then buy those spices and do it yourself, that way you know what exactly is in there, often stores are very heavy on salt.

grill on low to medium heat.

you wont have any issues unless your throwing it on super high heat for a long time.

the higher the heat, the quicker the turn time is to prevent that.
