Best WBS/Coir Brands/Monotub Info

Ok guys, ive decided after my current grows of BRF cakes are over, I am going to dry and dabble my hand in monotubs, but I still have a couple questions about the materials needed.
*Before I start, if you're going to say UTFSE, then shuffle off, don't need to hear it, if you don't have anything to say to help then do me and yourself a favor and go somewhere else.* **Go to the bottom paragraph for more info on this topic**
As far as WBS, there are so many different brands that have different ingredients I was wondering 1. What are the ideal ingredients to look for in brand of WBS? 2. what brand(s) if any, are avoided at all costs? 3.what additives are to be avoided in a brand of WBS? 4. What brands are the absolute best and produce good results 99% of the time?
Coir
I was in the pet store, read some posts saying its the best place to find it, and I came across a couple different kinds of coco coir, so it got me thinking.
-There were big bags as well as compact bricks of Coir, all the teks ive seen seem to be using the bricks of Coir:
1. What is the difference between the big loose bags of Coir and the dense bricks of Coir(besides the obvious)
2.What is the ideal brand of Coir to use when doing monotubs, if there are a couple that work, please let me know a couple of them as I might be only able to find one.
3.What additives to the Coir are to be avoided when looking for one to purchase?
Monotub: From what Ive gathered, there are a couple different parts to a monotub(please clarify for me if I am wrong or misunderstanding) 1.Substrate, the WBS/mycelium colonized in the jars 2.jars then moved when fully colonized to the substrate in the (specially made tub, with polyfill in some holes etc.)monotub. This is then covered and stored until the substrate in the tub is fully colonized. 3.Then the colonized sub mixture is cased, which is what the coir is used for? 4.From there, pins are formed and the mixture fruits, resulting in the fruits of the labor.
that basically correct? like I said, if I am confusing some parts of have it wrong, please clarify! I am here because this is all very interesting and I am thirsty(yes im thirsty, but in a good way....I think ) to learn
To the Douches that are going to answer UTFSE, I already did. Most of the info is outdated and the ones that are slightly current have conflicting info/opinions in the threads, so that's why I decided to make my own. Im not just going to sit back and wait for people to answer, im still going to research, but it will definitely help me a lot if you could answer some of the questions, as it will help me to understand more and get the big picture of what im trying to accomplish while doing a monotub.
-thank you for taking the time to read this, and any info is appreciated, and will be used as a reference when I start my new monotub project. Thanks, and peace out!

Dont worry about brand named, you are going to pasturize the coir anyways. Most pet stores carry eco earth, it works fine. Use the bricks not the loose stuff.
Here is the gist..
1. You prep your bird seed. You fill your jars (with gas exchange lids) and sterilize. You inoculate, lrt colonize. This is your spawn.
2. You pasturize your substrate. Coir/verm/gypsum is a common substrate, although there are many choices.
3. You spawn to bulk substrate (mix spawn and substrate) in your tub. You ley fully colonize.
4. At this point you can (optionally) add a casing layer and wait a few more days, or put directly into fruiting. To fruit, you remove the tape from the holes amd stuff with polyfill to introduce FAE, and put under your lights.
About your rant about the search engine, maybe you arent using it right because most of these basic questions have been gone over a hundred times. Most people on this board arent dicks and wont just tell you to use the search engine unless its clear that you just want someone to hold your hand. We dont want to have to read through you telling us you don't need to be told to use the search engine any more than you want us to respond UTFSE. Food for thought. Anyways Its clear that you have a LOT more reasearch to do.
First thing is first, you are going to need to learn to produce clean grain spawn. It is the cornerstone of this hobby. So I would start by learning to prep your grains, make GE lids, Sterilize/inoculate, and most importantly learn STERILE PROCEDURE and Still Air Box work, because it is much more essential to know when working with grains.
Good luck!

Here's a list of links I found useful when I was starting...
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17826822
Check RRs rye prep & damion5050s coir tek.
The sooner you start playing with agar the sooner you'll start having consistent results!
Also there's no need to case cubes, keep it simple

the casings from what I understand are to help it retain moisture as well as slightly keeping contams out?
also, I purchased LGM, and the thing im having problems understanding is field capacity, what is your definition of field capacity, and or what does It look like.
also, agar seems like its difficult to me, as it probably does to most new growers, I definitely have to read up more on it, and I also don't have a flowhood, which is what RR uses in the video, im assuming an SAB will work just fine though.

I dunno if they will keep contams out, most contams will be hidden in your spawn already. But that might be true, Ive heard people they tell me they case in the summer more (when contams are usually worse). Casing keeps the comditions on the surface real nice, it can be benificial but its really optional with cubes and Id just conventrate on getting a couple good grows first.
Whats "LGM"?
Field capacity, you pick up a handfull of sunstrate and give a squeeze... it feels damp but no water drips. You squeeze harder and a couple drops, a little stream rolls down your knuckle. Thatd feild capacity!
Agar looks really difficult but man, its pretty hard to mess up actually. It was a breeze my first run with agar. Yea RR uses flowhood and so do I but everything you can do in front of one can be done with the same sucess rate in a SAB. Flowhood is just super awesome and convienent haha
Good luck!

oh ok, what are the strains that casing is usually used for or required(like pans, azures?)
LGM - Lets Grow Mushrooms, Im having a problem getting it on my ipad though for some reason, I can load it into iTunes but not into my ipad so im getting frustrated.
as far as field capacity, im getting more confused because some people say you should get drops falling out when squeezed, others not. I tend to go in the middle with advice I get, but what your saying makes sense and I think ill go with that.
agar, what brand do you use?
