I went on a hike with a friend and the place turned out to be a plant lover's paradise. Orchids and pitcher plants growing all over the place, and so many beautiful ferns and mosses too. I was too excited while I was there to take decent photos of most of it, and my camera battery died so I didn't get to capture everything I wanted to. But I still have a few photos that I thought I would share here. Please correct me if I got a name wrong.

Sarracenia alata

Drosera brevifolia

Grass pink orchid Calopogon sp.

Snowy orchid Platanthera nivea

Ipomoea pandurata

Centrosema virginianum

Sabatia gentianoides

Cephalanthus occidentalis

Asclepias rubra

I think this is a Bigleaf Magnolia, M. macrophylla, or something close. Only saw this one, it was so impressive with its massive leaves!

the last one looks to be a Prunella species. I have some I am growing for seed production. It is one that I grow for natural healing.

That wasn't a botanical garden? Awesome!
Love the pics, thanks for sharing
