Tons of scenes were exactly like the original, you can tell they did it on purpose. Idk if I liked that or not, kind of seemed like they lacked their own original content.
At the very beginning, the Aunt comes down the steps ( just like the old guy ) and the kids yell Aunt "wahtever"!! In the original they yell "Grandpa!!". So from the very start they copied some of the first movie.
And the other scenes like you mentioned.
Its almost like a remake but without taking out the history of previous movies.
jurassic park series in general is just all over easter egg shit like that. i mean it was kinda like a remake but overall it was different. i mean once the dinos get loose, its kinda hard for the story to not be about survival

kr0nik0 said: You're right, it was a mix of both. The memorable scenes with animatronics were the triceratops dying (which you can still see in person at Universal Studios, FL), the one dinosaur that spit, and quite a few of the raptor scenes which were awesome.
I think they used mainly CGI towards the beginning with the really big dinos. The T-Rex as well and that is what really put it over the top.
I'm bit upset that I was just up at Universal about a month ago and although the JP water ride is amazing, it's getting dated. The new ride that's been in the works for years opened up a week after I was there. I might take the 3 hour drive up in a couple weeks just to check that out.
i heard one of the people who was like a puppeteer for the t rex was actually the drummer from TOOL. (heard that on reddit)

For someone that filmed the movie at a theater, the quality is rather impressive.

I don't mind HD streams. I just connect my laptop to my TV via HDMI and it's great.
Jurassic World I made an exception for since it was a movie I had been really eager to watch since it was first announced. Star Wars will be another one that I spend the money to see, especially since they're going to be screening it at the IMAX here on that 70'x100' screen. Not in 3D thankfully.

dont say "spend the money to see". seeing movies in theaters costs like $10 bucks. hopefully most of us make more than that in an hour at work
i go to the movies all the time. i wanna see that movie "Dope". looks like it could be alright
and obvy def gonna see star wars in theaters. def wont see that one on the opening day tho like i did with jurassic. those theaters will be sold the fuck out and having to sit directly next to strangers kinda sucks. i saw the dark knight opening weekend and before the movie started they had to make an announcement to tell people to leave no seats empty cuz the theater sold out. (my aloholic friend just had to bring nips and when he cracked em open they smelled so bad. it was so embarassing)

It gets expensive dude. Ticket was almost $15 w/ tax, Nachos and a drink were $12. I don't know about you but I think spending close to 30 bucks to watch a 90 minute movie is a bit much.
That's why I love going to the drive-in to watch movies. $6 a head and you can do whatever you please in the privacy of your own car.

That's the best part about the drive in, being able to smoke weed throughout the whole film. When I blaze before going into a theater I'm not stoned anymore halfway through it. Good thing I had THC tincture for JP.
Also doesn't hurt that @ the drive in there's guys walking around selling Jamaican beef patties, corn dogs, and beer for 7-11 prices.

When I was with my ex it wasn't a problem since we could fit tons of stuff in her purse, but as a dude by myself 1 bag of skittles in my pocket doesn't cut it.
How do you sneak in drinks & food?

theres only one near us
back in high school it really didnt matter what was showing, it was just a place to get fucked up if we didnt find a party. it was a good deal too, 20/car. so we used to cram people in there too cuz we didnt live that far away. those were good days lol
there were good movies there sometimes tho and we'd actually pay attention

We only have on drive in theatre too. If you wait a week they have new releases and its WAY cheaper then Harkins or AMC.
Not per car though, they charge per person here
