Dinosaur movies are the best though. I also like computer movies, love movies, and movies featuring a strong lesbian lead.(sarcasm)

Maybe he watches to much netflix and takes those genres literally.

Any of you guys into the cheesy, claymation dinosaur movies from the 60's/70's they play late night on the Sy-Fy channel?
I used to love getting really stoned and watching those silly films with my friends.

Some leaked concept art + plot points from an early treatment of the script.

How Jurassic World could have been.

I think after the second lame sequel, producers were faced with the choice of going in a radical new direction, essentially remaking the original, or just abandoning the franchise.  The movie as released was probably the best choice.

I mentioned the dino human hybrid earlier,(then again i wouldn't expect someone to read 9 pages to see if something was brought up already )

The not so bad thing about that that idea though, is it highlights just how crazy john hammond really was in the book. In the book the image you get of him is he's almost like dr. Frankenstein, making monsters not willy wonka making awesomeness. Ogjp, only gave a few glimpses into his insanity, which jurassic world attempted to show more of, through the company that took over the park.

Watched this on a gbox last night.  I thought it was pretty sick.  Definitely some corny/cheesy parts though.

it was sick as fuck

fuck the haters. the end was awesome

if your gonna bitch about it being unealistic, then say its an ok/decent movie, then have some consistency. like god damn, the whole entire movie is unrealistic. its about genetically made dinosaurs in the year 2015

the end was mayhem and that shit put a huge smile on my face when i was watching it

The final 20-30 minutes were composed of great scenes in an overall mediocre movie.
Entertaining without a doubt.

I wonder why no other directors/producers have ventured into the dinosaur genre over the past 20 years. Especially with all the advancements in CGI.

What made the original so special is that for the early 90's the CGI was beyond breathtaking.
The only other movie that comes to mind at that time with great CGI & SFX was Terminator 2.
Edit: The Abyss as well. Badass effects that were groundbreaking.

well they used like actual robot type things for the dinos in the original. i think it was a mix of that and CGI

it really was amazing for the time tho. and it was just an epic fuckin movie.  the OG JP will go down as a top 3 movie for me

I'd watch it again.  Gbox wasn't the greatest quality, but it was some dudes HD camera in a theatre.  Definitely better then over $20 at the theatres though.

I thought it was really cool how they had some original JP things in the movie.  Like the guy wearing the original JP shirt, the original JP banner, the old jeep they found.  Pretty cool

there were tons of smaller things too

like the fat dude who fucked everything up, his death was super similar to the lawyer getting killed in the original. the kids with the dino right in their face with only glass inbetween

even something as small as them showing how messy that dudes desk was with the dinos on them. was a reference to the fat guy in the original

its funny how its always a fat dude who fucks everything up

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that.

Tons of scenes were exactly like the original, you can tell they did it on purpose.  Idk if I liked that or not, kind of seemed like they lacked their own original content.

At the very beginning, the Aunt comes down the steps ( just like the old guy ) and the kids yell Aunt "wahtever"!! In the original they yell "Grandpa!!".  So from the very start they copied some of the first movie.

And the other scenes like you mentioned.

Its almost like a remake but without taking out the history of previous movies.

You're right, it was a mix of both.
The memorable scenes with animatronics were the triceratops dying (which you can still see in person at Universal Studios, FL), the one dinosaur that spit, and quite a few of the raptor scenes which were awesome.

I think they used mainly CGI towards the beginning with the really big dinos. The T-Rex as well and that is what really put it over the top.

I'm bit upset that I was just up at Universal about a month ago and although the JP water ride is amazing, it's getting dated. The new ride that's been in the works for years opened up a week after I was there. I might take the 3 hour drive up in a couple weeks just to check that out.
