Re: Jurassic World [Re: Herbologist]

Haven't seen it yet.

I rarely see movies in theatres because I have a projector and don't mind waiting for someone else upload a torrent file(and that's only if I really want to see something). I feel like there's always a puzzle piece missing with big budget productions now, there was so much more interesting shit coming out from major studios/producers in the '90's and early 00's (being john malkovich, 5th element, 12 monkeys, , the original Jurassic Park ffs, truman show). Now usually I'm just disappointed.

Also, I really hate this new era of cgi dominated fx(even when it's supplemental). I think the original Jurassic Park was a masterpiece in that regard, and while I know that we were kind of in the 'golden age' of animatronics then, and now we're really just stumbling into this new age of cgi and still have time to get better, I just hate the look.

Is it really worth it to see it in theatres?

p.s.

I refuse to pay to see this due to the ridiculous amount of shitty CGI they used for the dinosaurs.
Original movie was awesome because they had a giant t-rex machine dinosaur and raptors that looked REAL AS FUCK -- not some fucking PS4 graphic dinosaurs.

Thankyou!!

I feel like so much substance has gone out the window because producers just want to churn out as many movies as they can as fast as they can, for as much money as they can, and what can I say, it sells.

But yeah, it looks so shitty.

Yea CGI's made hollywood really lazy...instead of making badass props and machines that are physical and lifelike they just have some nerd produce some corny graphics on a computer and there ya go...another blockbuster!

How does this one compare to the 3rd one? Besides the visual content being way more advanced. I liked a lot of the scenarios in the 3rd one with the Pterodactyl Bird Cage, the T-Rex trying to destroy the plane, the Velociraptor material.

I haven't watched JP3 in years but if you liked the Pterodactyl cage, one of the best scenes in JW which lasts for a good 10 minutes is based around a Pterodactyl "aviary" and them escaping it. Pretty cool stuff.

I didn't think the CGI was bad as a lot of you guys are saying but looking back on it, if I were to compare it to a movie like Avatar, then yea, it could've been better.

i watched it on pot tho so it's legit

it wasnt bad, but it wasn't as great as originally thought to be like every other sequel.

then again i watched the cam version, which was enough to hear the dialogue which honestly could have used some work.. or love..

actors could have done a better job too, main character was good and funny, seems like they build the whole movie around him tho and his personality. which like i said wasnt bad, but it just wasnt no jurrasic park 1 if u know what i mean. it was jurrasic park 4..

i just saw it, it was so trite i felt absolutely nothing until 1:50 in, when i realized i was feeling nothing and became annoyed.

the whole movie is not particularly great cgi dinosaurs and thats it, thats the only thing in the movie.

jurassic park 3 is my favorite jurrasic park.

It was a good movie but it sucked compared to 1 and 3. It was on par with 2.

Teamkiller didn't even say anything about the cgi.  Calm down bro.

You're going to have to find a way to cope with the fact that not everyone loved Jurassic World as much as you did.  There are no universally good movies, bassfreak.  Some movies may please most, but there will still be people who didnt like the film.  No one is wrong, just different tastes.  You're over the moon for JW, but your opinion isn't everyone's.  Hell, most people didnt love this movie.  Almost all fan & critic reviews are lukewarm at best.

I gave it a 6/10. It was midly entertaining but nothing special.

That's the overwhelming consensus.  Not bad, but far from great.  And there's nothing wrong with that; it's more than you can say about loads of movies out this summer.

I'm stoked to see the new Terminator movie next month, even though I know it's not going to be all that good.  Those movies are special to me and it doesn't matter if other people don't like them.  I think bassfreak would be happier if he had a similar mindset.
