I mean my mac does everything I need it to.. so I don't really have any gripes with it. But i really really fucking hate iPhones. Android is worlds better in terms of customization and third party software. I root and unlock the boot loader for every phone I get. I love being able to overclock/underclock or do whatever the fuck I want.
iPhones are for simps who only wanna call/text and use iMessage or whatever the fuck.

I hate the iphone too. At least macs are decent for just simple use like internet and shit. iPhones on the other hand, are really for gimps.

Now you just need a 4k digital camera of high quality (not possible to find under $700), forget about using a phone as digital camera - looks like crap.
Phones are unuseable as cameras
Now you just need all your games to work in 4k, forget all about playing Red Alert 1 , or Quake 2 - the best games in the unvierse
I'm sticking with my 14" tft I got for free ;-) Then I can still play all the good old games, even dos games if I want, if I buy a 4k monitor I can only play the newest games
No games before 2015 or so will be playable or look ok
They will look like crap, in non native resolution, they usually only play in 1024x768 or such
Btw the best cameras of today are usually max 5 Megapixels, so that would probably make the image 1/3 the size of your screen Screw 4k, never would I use it, not even if I got one for free
I like my Ixus 500 camera, best pocket camera ever, and I like being able to get images from it in fullscreen without it looking like crap. You can buy a new camera, but they make them worse today, more pixels but worse CCD/sensor size so full of noise - same with camera phone photos.
No way I'm buying into new technology, not with phones either. I'm keeping my nokia 3310 ;-)

They're always going to look like crap. Whether on a normal monitor or a 4k monitor.
You know 4k porn exists right? If that's not a reason to get a 4k monitor idk what the fuck is.

Im not using win xp, but debian GNU/Linux , www.gnu.org , www.debian.org
you should try it, it's really good (when it works:D)
usually it works longer than any win install too, I've never reinstalled yet for 5+ years
If I change PC I just move the harddrive over into a new PC, so this install is probably around 5 years ago, if you move a harddrive over from laptop/pc into a new laptop/pc with Windows XP you get a blue scren of death - need to reinstall
Windows cannot be moved around, one big downside
You need to reinstall every time you change pc
With linux you can upgrade pc every month and it will work

drr you are letting yourself get way too hyped up over this man. Once you hit that point you just begin defeating yourself in the argument.

From what I've seen, Apple seems to offer laptops that are competitive value for money compared to offerings from other companies, in the market segments they choose to focus on. They do not offer a $300 gaming computer that competes with parts bought from the store and pirated Windows. Or a $150 shitbox competitor to the Chromebook or to Intel's Compute stick (I bought this when in first came out and there are many purposes it is perfectly awful for.) But they do have laptops that are light and have very good screens and battery life and so on and so on. A lot of people who need to carry a computer around with them to do work choose an Apple, or a Lenovo or a Toshiba or whatever.
Consider Panasonic's toughbook line. If you look just at Passmark score of the CPU and RAM and whatever, you would conclude that they suck big time. But they excel in a particular area, a mobile computer that has a very good case and stands up to a lot of rough treatment. That is why they are used for police, military, ambulance, and so on. The seemingly outlandish price from the perspective of a gamer or casual home laptop user seems to be considered "worth it" for certain types of uses.

IMO the problem with the laptop market to date is that there is no standardization to the internals as there is with desktops, so you can't just buy a generic tough-as-nails laptop chassis, choose a motherboard from a wide variety of laptop motherboards that fit that standard size, monitor, keyboard of your choice etc, and keep all of the non-obsolecent components through many generations of internal hardware upgrades.
The Compute Stick is approaching that, you can pretty much put together a (slow) Intel based laptop with whatever small HDMI screen you want, one of those batteries for charging USB stuff on the go. The bigger ones have comparable capacity to a laptop battery. I have a Toughbook case in my shed somewhere that I want to do this with. Someone in my neighborhood was just throwing it out.

You can always do a dual boot win/hackintosh on a pc (requires some work) then you can have the best of both worlds.

I'd say the best would just be running wine on Linux.

Might be true. I feel like I'm getting to the point where learning to use any OS other than windows is just meh too me and pretty much out of the question.
I've been using nothing but windows since 95'. Yeah I know, I was a pretty bad ass 6 year old @ the time

The funny things is this:
Windows 8.1 PRO installed just fine and dandy with no problems whatsoever on my 2009 iMac.
On my 2007 macbook that I sold, I was going to install a new windows 8.1 disc on it but it wouldn't let me. It kept going into eufi and asking me what boot rom I wanted to do and it wouldn't let me click anything and there were no options to choose from. It's as if the mac was literally keeping me from installing windows. So I said fuck that, I will sell the macbook and get a pc laptop so I can install my copy of windows on it. And that's exactly what I did.
Drr....what you're talking about is the number of mouse clicks you have to do on osx versus windows. Things don't take that much longer on windows. Once you get used to a certain work flow, it's easy to deal with. Windows doesn't have all the small bugs that osx has. Windows doesn't have all the slow childish animations that osx has.
