That makes perfect sense. So. Is it quality or actual amount of extract that is bad or incorrect? Because I would think you can still get 340mg from the mycelium but would take more substrate to extract from. But still end up the same either way.
I guess my question is whether the quality differs from mycelium to fruitbody? Because I would think you can get the extract from either. Unless quality is an issue between the two, I don't see the difference really...

say you eat 1 gram of [XXXX species] mushroom.
you would probably have to eat like 10 grams of the XXXX species mycelium to get the same health effects
thats why it matters that their using mycelium instead of mushrooms.

But the mycelium isn't even separated from the cakes, he's basically just putting cakes in a blender and then in capsules if it was a true "extract" It wouldn't contain brown rice flour..

Gotta admit that's a good ass hustle to get some extra money out of the cakes.
With how stupid people are when it comes to supplements he could probably maintain a business just from selling the cakes and throwing away fruit bodies lol

I get that. But you can get the 340mg from either way if it's already extracted. Quality is the question, not amount. If it takes me 10 grams of mycelium vs one gram from fruit to get the 340mg extract, what does it matter? Unless the quality differs between the two...
Perhaps someone could guide me towards what a legit chaga extract supplement?

Yeah as soon as you posted the nutritional information and I saw those asterisks I lol'd.
Of course no one reads the asterisked shit though.
I can point you towards good mushroom extracts, but good mushroom extracts and supplements can't go in the same sentence.
I would try joe rogans shit. it all has a 30 day money back guarantee and you get to keep the supplements http://www.onnit.com/

Most of the time when you buy supplements you are just paying for neon pee and if it is one of those special herbs you are paying for the placebo effect. It seems to be working for OP I guess.

if i were you i would buy some size 00 capsules, and just order some real, raw chaga mushroom from amazon.com(or ebay, or whatever), powder them in a blender, and put them into capsules yourself
it really doesnt take long. i spent 7$ on a capsule machine and i can make 30 800mg capsules in about 4 minutes.
it ends up being way cheaper. companies make you pay for capsuling things. plus, you KNOW what you have is legit.
correction: i dont know much about chaga specifically, but i think you mentioned its inedible. so buying it raw might only work if you want to use it in tea. but in general, this will work as long as the mushroom is edible

I'm almost 99 percent sure it's edible just isn't palatable.

I'm pretty sure Chaga is like Turkey Tails, where it's technically edible but it's basically as hard as a piece of wood so you wouldn't want to eat it.
But if you grind it in a blender and drink it or encapsulate it, totally edible AFAIK

Yeah they have the grinded powder on amazon. It looks like stamets seems to be the only one using mycelium?

there are a bunch of pre-capped chaga supplements i saw on amazon, but they all contained at least some ammount of mycelium, along with fruiting body.
it could be 80% mycelium, or 80% fruiting body, i have no idea, they arent required to go into those specifics because its a 'patented blend' or some shit
you should look into it further yourself. make sure you pay extra special attention to the nutritional facts label
if anything, look at the label before you read even a word of what the company has to say about the product

I bought some kratom off amazon (after they cut down on selling Actives, I was dumb and had a gift card) and came to me with no kratom smell, you know the smell if you've ever had it, and almost no taste.
After doing the entire batch and feeling nothing I was worried as fuck about what I ingested.
So this this this this this times a billion.
Do it yourself, or get fucked over, that's the american way.
