Whoops I meant 340mg in each daily dose... I may get a bottle of just chaga extract and then switch over to his 7 stamets daily. Since that one is for daily use

Paul Stamets products are a scam IMO. i like the guy as a person, but his HostDefense company is bullshit

they sell them as 'mushroom' supplements, but all they actually are is mycelium with leftover substrate or whatever. so you arent even getting those 340 mgs of mycelium, your probably getting 200mgs of mycelium and 140mgs of dirt

notice how it says "mushrooms" at the top and even says "made with 100% organic mushrooms" yet there isnt any mushroom in them at all.

mushrooms are more valuable to sell raw.

What's in it, then?

I have a buddy who takes mushies as supplements but he doesn't take some premixed bullshit, he buys the actual mushroom extracts himself and makes his own blend,.

Extracted from 100% organically grown mushrooms?... that's what I think it means. It's extract. Not actually the mushroom. You can't even eat chaga. Why do you say his product is bad? I already have a positive effect after 5 days of taking, but placebo is always a factor. How did you find out what they actually use?

And what about all the positive reviews? Amazon included... I'm curious to YOUR sources now...

You should be able to find out what they actually use by reading the bottle. If not it's not an fda approved supplement and it isn't for human consumption.

And yeah I could buy all three separately and mix myself once I know which ones I like the most. It's best to have so.e diversity in mushie supplements hence the stamets daily 7. Which is also premixed, but how is that bullshit?

its not extract. its mycelium. you CAN buy a 1 ounce liquid extract from them, but it is extract of mycelium, not extract of mushroom

Quote:

Why do you say his product is bad?

because the product packaging contradicts itself. on the front it says it is from mushrooms. on the back, in the nutritional fine print, it says its from mycelium

Quote:

And what about all the positive reviews?

maybe it does have some kind of effect? i suppose its possible. but i think the placebo effect is far more likely

The supplement industry is the biggest sham ever.

Basically 99.9 percent of the supplements you buy are complete CRAP and do absolutely nothing. The supplement industry relies heavily on the placebo effect.

If you wanna get healthy eat some fruits and vegetables, go ride your bike and hang out with friends and have a balanced life. Supplements are useless the herbs and all that shit do fuck all bud they are laughing at the bank they are making while people like you think it is doing something.

Ignorance is ok. That's why I'm on here poking your brains.

So I know chaga has some amazing health benefits. Are you guys saying it's just this brand that's bullshit or all of it? And how do mycelium vs fruit body extract differ exactly? I appreciate the answers for this is mostly all new to me

It's just the brand, the actual fruit bodies have health benefits, but you're buying his spent cakes ground up. and he's making a fortune off spent cakes, from what it seems.

i dont doubt they are healthy, polysaccharides are generally considered healthy energy. its just this particular company

as far as the health claims, i have no idea which are true and which might not be

Quote:

this analogy might not be 100% accurate, but its easy to get the idea

picture mycelium as an apple tree, and mushrooms as apples

there are technically useful nutrients in that wood of the apple tree, but the apples themselves are really concentrated

i hope that makes sense  someone more informed than me can explain in technical detail if you went over to the cultivation boards probably
