This is more designed for plants, but has anyone used pre buffered coco? Anything to know about this stuff? Do you think gypsum or calcium carbonate is still necessary

I would avoid anything with buffers simply because you dont know whats inside it. I have no personal experience with using it though.
Coir comes almost completely neutral in pH so gypsum, lime, etc would be more beneficial as a source of calcium than they would as pH adjusters. You can still add them but i would make sure the substrate isnt too alkali.

well im gonna have to try it at least. Just wondering if anyone experienced a nightmare scenario with this.. like NO mush growth at all, or mega deformities.

I'm guessing that "pH Stabilized" is just marketing b.s.
Have you read all the ingredients on the bag? Sometimes it takes a while to find weird additives.
You might want to try a pH tester.
Or go for it and let us know your results

For sure i'll be using it. will keep this posted. I don't expect any issues, but.
This description sounds like all fluff and marketing. They prob just dipped this in a ph solution to adjust for lower pH.. like 5.5 - 6 instead of 8.

Actually higher pH is good for shrooms. Less likelihood of contams and the mycelium is pretty tolerant of high pH.
You might want to add some calcium carbonate. I use dried powdered egg shells

I'll be just doing the same as usual. Bit of gypsum and calcium carb.. to balance out the pH and stabilize.
