Cobweb mold?
    #21797259 - 06/12/15 12:25 PM (9 years, 7 months ago)

Is this cobweb mold? How much does it interfere with the good guys?  I had a bit of this last time and still got a decent crop, but nowhere near this much. One of those cakes in the pic has a nice patch of pins close to the bottom

Is something wrong with my FAE or humidity?

THAYNKKKKKSSS

so it's not mold? even though it grew over the vermiculite on the top edge?  it wasn't there until about a day in the fruiting chamber...

Mycelium is mold.
I hope you realize mushrooms are just the reproductive organ of mold.

You should have mushrooms in no time.

ha yes, what I meant was "so it's not *cobweb* mold". this is only my second grow, and there's so much conflicting info on cobweb mold I thought I'd ask.  especially since I didn't get as many flushes as expected last time, and 2 (out of 12) cakes failed to produce at all despite colonizing beautifully. i figured it might be FAE! the air pump I have right now is weak sauce. but I guess i just won't worry about it!

Thanks y'all!

You need to make a sgfc. Air pumps are useless.

I'm actually having great results with polyfill. seemed way easier than sgfc, and now the extra fuzz is gone!

It's cube mycelium.... you also need FAE. Once the cakes pin the mushrooms will be starving for fresh air.

For the most part... air pumps suck and are better used for fish in aquariums....
