4 pond foggers enough?

By the recommendation of another forum member, I purchased 4 mist maker single disc pond foggers off of amazon to humidify my fruiting chamber. They arrived in the mail today and I was eager to test one out. I had never used one before and the way it works is actually quite fascinating. I left one in my bathroom sink for a few minutes and it was producing a fair amount of mist, but the air didn't feel very wet.
I'm going to have them in a tote ducted to the fruiting chamber, which is 6x15 with a 7.5 foot ceiling. I have no idea what to expect really, but the devices are so small relative to the size of the room. Should I buy more? Or a humidifier to go along with what I have?

There are a few variables that come into play with the foggers, air exchange rate, outside humidity and temperature, and depth of water for the foggers. The best way to find out is hook it all up and run it with a wet towel calibrated humidor hygrometer.

Consider getting a timer or digital humidistat so the foggers cycle. There not designed to run 24/7 for longevity. You can put a cool mist or two inside your chamber to bump up the humidity when the foggers are off and help with air circulation inside your chamber.
There are two ways you can use the foggers, make a foam float with a submersed tray to hold the foggers under water, maintaining the correct depth for the foggers. Then you just fill the tote as much as u can and manually maintain water level. Or get a float valve and run a 1/4 tube to constantly maintain a shallow water level with the foggers hot glued or epoxied to the bottom of the tote

4 is plenty for that space as long as your incoming RH is reasonable. You'll have to unplug a few if its humid out. Some of those foggers last forever, some crap out in a week. They are half the price if you buy them by the case.

Where can you buy a case?
If your finding the RH is going too high put the foggers on a timer and play with the on off cycles, giving it somewhat automation. But this will all vary with the outside weather, if its cold and raining out your foggers will oversaturate the already humid air and your chamber will get soaked. The better way to go is wire up a digital humidistat. Also spraying down your chamber with a hose on mist will raise the RH to 98+ and hold it there for a good 1-2 hours to give your foggers a rest.
humidistat http://www.amazon.com/IMAGE%C2%AE-Digital-Humidity-Control-Controller/dp/B009VY1ANM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1434313468&sr=8-3&keywords=digital+humidistat
My automated controller build. It does temp, lights, RH and controls a purge pump for the humidifier tank. Cost was $80 and 2-3 hours, not having to worry about my chamber priceless.. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21708608

Very cool. I just built my humidity tote and the 4 foggers are putting out a lot of mist but I'm not feeling the humidity. I'm testing this outside though. Hopefully the moisture will accumulate in the closed environment

Have you purchased a humidor hygrometer yet? I have good results with this model, thou its not a hair hygrometer its still fairly accurate and calibratable.
$10 Analog Hygrometer by Western Humidor http://www.amazon.com/Analog-Hygrometer-by-Western-Humidor/dp/B00JXOKPT0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1434325699&sr=8-2&keywords=hygrometer

Thanks, just ordered it.
And I was reading through your build thread. In your pictures it looks like you have two pond foggers and a few humidifiers? Do I need a humidifier as well, or will the foggers be enough? I'm going to have a 165cfm fan blowing through

Screened air is sucked into the tote by the exhaust fan. Foggers float in a ring. I'm in there picking twice a day so I just manually fill and adjust the fog. Down to one fogger ATM so using coolmist and hosing to supplement.
Mist makers has a wholesale link. Last case was 12 foggers with power supply for $144 I think. Need to get another.

Just realized there are sellers on ebay that sell just the mister for $3.33 shipped from china. Also saw this awesome video of overhauling a mist maker, super easy. So it sounds like if you check the torque on the lock ring and clean them from time in to time in vinegar it will lengthen there lifespan. You can also get a 10pk of replacement discs for $9 off ebay.
Just take note there are 16mm and 20mm foggers.

I got my 5 disc fogger from House of Hydro. Hands down the best place to get foggers.

They do look sweet but i cant justify spending $100+ when i can get 5 single foggers for half the price. Maybe once i start seeing some returns on my investments. It would clean up the wiring a bit having only one power source.
