Monotub fruits
    #21793548 - 06/11/15 03:39 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

On one of my monotubs, ive noticed the fruits arent growing upright, they are 'falling over' or are droopy..they look healthy.. my question is, what causes this and how can i fix it?
Does it even matter?

I figured. I changed my dialing on this tub so well see how it does, i might just fan it manually. I didnt really place the holes on my tub like i wanted to (or rather, realized it was ignorant placement once i finished placing them lol)

6 times an hour? That seems like a little much.. for how long..? A minute or so?

Six x a day is more than plenty . I can get by with 3 to 5 if im manually fanning with a lid and im using a shot gun style fruiting chamber. I think you just have some tall mushrooms that are too tall for their own good. Sometimes their tall & skinny and sometimes I get short stout mushrooms. Fresh air is great  but in a mono tub you can almost give it no air and theyll come out fine if everything else is in the target zone like your substrates Moisture and your poly is atleast a little loose. I barley open my mono lid, if loosening your poly fill doesn't help then its just their characteristics.

Those totally look like they are starving for oxygen...you don't fan for FAE...you fan after you mist to encourage evaporation... maybe tape up your holes and redo them where they need to be.

He means that you need constant FAE. Removing the lid to fan a few times a day won't do much to help your situation. Make sure your mono is up to spec.

you shouldnt have to fan a monotub but maybe twice a day if any if its properly dialed in.

look for franks tek on dialing in a monotub like a boss.

it basically consists of a few things properly placed/sized holes and tighntess of polyfil with a fan moving air around in the room.

to keep CO2 under 600PPM in a monotub sized chamber you either need holes or to fan more than a few times an hour.

fanning has nothing to do with FAE if you do it less than a few times an hour.

I think most people have read Franks thread. I dialed it as seen, as i do with all my tubs.. this is the only one acting weird. I think it has something to do with the hole placement, which is different from the rest.

I loosened some of the poly on the top a little more to see if that makes a difference.
