Simple emberassing noob question..
    #2179333 - 12/15/03 01:16 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

When typing a post on the Shroomery, sometimes I wan't to insert text in the middle of a sentence, and I click or use the arrow buttons to move the flashing cursor to the place where I wan't to insert the text.

Then, when I start typing, sometimes it will move all the other text along, inserting the new text. And sometimes it will just overwrite the existing text.(annoying).

I can't seem to figure out WHY it does one thing one time and another thing another time. And, I can't seem to figure out how to change it from overwrite to insert myself.

Please help me save my typing fingers.

Depends upon the state of your insert button. Insert toggles between "insert" and "overwrite". When you see it overwriting characters, hit insert to switch modes.
