Is the stuff your talking about,kinda yellow?If so it could be mycelium waste,or there's to much moisture,water getting on cake.Try to get rid of it.If it's yellow it maybe just this.

As i said, I haven't seen it with my own eyes as she dosen't live with me. I was just wondering if anyone could give me an idea or two or if anyone had seen anything resembling it. That way, when I do get over to her place, I'll know my options.
