New To Agar - Quick Question

Trying Agar for the first time with the Glad Mini Rounds. Inoculated several with spores from a couple different syringes. How long is typical before I start seeing white mycelium on the top of the agar? I do see what looks like strands of something growing through the agar when I look through the bottom into a light but no real white fluffy stuff on top? It's been about 5 days since inoculation.
Also, what is the optimal temperature for the agar to colonize? Room temp 70ish OK?

Room temp is fine. Make sure that you keep things from drying out by sealing the edge of the plate with Parafilm or keep it in a Ziploc bag.
I've had plates take up to 2 weeks to start showing good growth. Then again, I've had plenty that just never did anything; didn't contam, but also didn't germinate. So I've very recently taken advice from the boards and inoculated 1/2pt grain jars to transfer back out to agar for cleanup.

Room temp is fine. I personally don't wrap my pasty plates with anything after inoculation.
For the most part I see growth and make my first transfer within 4-7 days of knocking up with spores.
How much ms solution did you use per plate? You only need 1 drop per plate

Whoops. Didn't read what "plates" they were. (pre-coffee posting) Yeah, wrapping those would be overkill. The sealed lid retains the moisture just fine.

I used 2-3 drops. Tried 4 different strains and the TEX strain is showing really puffy growth on top of the agar just in last few hours. The others (PE, Amazon, ATL #7) just show strings of growth in the agar only visible if I hold it up to the light.

I"m using Glad Mini Rounds. Should I be sealing the edge of the tops on them too? Seems like an air tight seal.

Saran wrap works just as well if not better, but no its not needed.
Of the hundreds of pasty plates I've done I've never wrapped them.

In my glad mini rounds, the one showing the most growth has extremely puffy white mycelium (I hope) growing on top. Doesn't look to be growing "into" the agar as much as on top … comes up a full 1/4-1/2 inch above the surface of the agar.
Is this normal? Very puffy, not strandy at all.
