Most health food stores have both in the bulk section. whole oats are labeled oat groats usually.

Farro works pretty good, I like mixing it in sometimes for special grows.
Also tried Pearl Barley recently, and the myc. completely tore through it in half the time that my regular grain jars took. I guess its barley thats been hulled so it didn't take much to hydrate it. I thought it was gonna turn out to sticky but was very pleased with the results.

The co-op where I live has oat groats with the hull. The ones without are labeled rolled oats. Same goes at the feed store.

soak for 12-18 hours with a handful of gypsum stir well and simmer until the millet splits easyily with my thumbnail
the key is to not over cook the wbs

This is a description from bobsredmill.com, "Groat is an old Scottish word from hundreds of years ago that refers to cereal made from whole, hull-less oats." After reading this I went on TS.com and Producers Pride doesn't refer to them as groats only as whole oats.

Used wbs on and off for years with decent results. Super cheap and I'm poor!

I ended up with some good ole rye berries..
I'm going to use ziplock style filter patch bags. I have close to 5lbs of rye ands will prep out as many bags as possible. Going to G2G the 2 bags of colonized APE grain I have to the zipper bags then spawn bulk. I'm switching over to a mono tub for obvious reasons.
