What is your favorite grain and why?
Also your prep and additive advice would be great.

Rye/wheat berries 2nd wbs
I get a pair of cheap panty hose, double em up, using a saw'n off funnel I load the panty hose with the appropriate amount of grain I'll need, tie it up and wash/soak/simmer;
Cuts down on mess

For now I use wbs because my supermarket sells it for $10 for 40lbs. I plan to more for wheat or rye once I find a good local feed store.
Five or one gallon paint strainers are thicker than panty hoes and have an elastic band to put around your pot. I use my homebrew brew bags which are even more heavy duty but not needed for a few lbs of spawn grain, 20 lbs of grist yes. Just be sure to put a plate or your pressure cooker bottom spacer at the bottom so you don't scorch the bag.

cheap pennington finch seed from walmart.
it cost me .37 cents a pound and i have to drive less than 5 miles to get it. convenience and the smaller grain size colonizes in jars and tubs faster.

Whole brown rice undercooked. PC'd in pp5s and broken apart in a ziplock when fully colonized. I live in Asia and cereal grains aren't available or cost a fortune. WBR is boss though.

wbs use warm water to rinse several times until clear, throw away sunflower seeds and floaters.
Add a tablespoon or so of gypsum, cover and let soak overnight up to 24 hrs.
Drain in a colander and then spread out in a clean towel or tshirt. Use a fan to speed up water evaporation. Mix em up every once in a while so the bottom layer dries.
When the outside of the wbs is dry pc for 90 minutes at 15 psi.
I'm experimenting with using weak coffee water in the soak.
