Do you like smoking marijuana, camping, getting massaged, meeting new people, or eating five star cuisine?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, then a new marijuana friendly resort in Colorado might be right up your alley.
CannaCamp, a 170-acre ranch resort in southwest Durango, Colorado will open in July as the nation’s first marijuana-friendly ranch resort, according to ABC News.
The marijuana friendly camp will feature daily wake and bakes, marijuana centric cooking, and marijuana education classes along with the ability to roam freely around the 170-acre ranch while smoking a doobie.
CannaCamp spokesman Joel Schneider told the New York Daily News that the ranch is designed to combine all the normal aspects of life at summer camp with a marijuana-centered lifestyle.
“We’re bringing an element of luxury to that adventurous, exploratory vibe of childhood summer camp, in a beautiful setting where visitors can enjoy marijuana in a safe, comfortable, social environment.”
But hang on. Before you get too excited and run off to book a cabin, there are a few rules.
First and foremost, CannaCamp can’t sell marijuana to campers, it’s against state law. They will, however, pick travelers up at the airport and provide a free marijuana dispensary tour before heading out to the ranch.
There’s also no smoking allowed inside the cabins, although you can smoke just about everywhere else.
A three-night minimum stay for the $395 a night cabins means only the well-to-do pot heads will be staying at the ranch.
Camp activities include hiking, biking, rock climbing, zip lining, bonfires, and yoga along with marijuana cooking and education classes.
The resort also promises to serve campers the perfect wine and cocktails to go with the five star meals prepared by gourmet chefs.
A 4:20 happy hour is scheduled everyday, as are nightly bonfires where guests can bond over a joint.
Colorado legalized recreational marijuana use in January 2014 and since then has faced a number of problems including a growing number of lawsuits from neighboring states.
Nebraska and Oklahoma are suing Colorado for contributing to a cross border nuisance and the Supreme Court has asked President Barack Obama to weigh in on the issue before they make a ruling, according to the Inquisitr.
The number of Colorado residents smoking marijuana has climbed dramatically in the last year or so, according to the Inquisitr.
The crime rate in the state, however, has plummeted with homicides and automobile break-ins and sexual assaults hitting all time lows, according to the Inquisitr.
So, if you’re looking to experience the great outdoors and get high at the same time maybe you should try Colorado’s new marijuana friendly CannaCamp.

I know where I'm going for vacation
This is an excellent idea though. If it is successful which I am sure it will be... it will set a precedent for other states where MJ is legal

I like that no one talks about Washington, it's more than likely where I'm going to move to. I go there a few times a year and it's wayyy better than Colorado IMO. Certainly helps all the mushrooms in the world grow there lol

Oie. Thats a 5 hour drive for me! Well, Durango has been being built up pretty well over the years. Its basically a college town now. Still, that resort could be worth it.

It's really only good for meeting other rich stoners. There are plenty of amazing hot springs, cabins, and campgrounds all over the state.

1200 bucks for three nights? I can literally do all of this where I live for not near as much. Granted none of it is legal

A good reason to make more resorts
I don't really care if weed gets legal, except it would be nice we didn't imprison people/destroy people's lives
But it would also be nice not to smell weed everywhere you walk... I smell it a few times a month, and the smell can spread to a big area If I walk in the city, I smell weed almost daily some days....
In the trains, when I walk to the stations etc..
It can be annoying , just like normal cig smoke
If we didn't ban smoking and weed everywhere, nonsmokers like me would get less annoyed by smoke near stations , I don't remember it being as bad years back
And yes I am sensitive to smoke and chemicals and stuff, almost everything in the universe you can be sensitive, so don't mind me I like fresh air, less cars and less smokers everywhere. Let the smokers smoke inside where they want , or in some place for them publicly... then non smokers don't get as annoyed by smoke
As I got severe asthma it can be hard to breathe when walking behind smokers to the station each morning...
It was never a problem before we banned smokers from the train stations in my country...

Also a possibility But it's nice with a big public place with nice green areas, it's a big + to the gov they are starting to think clear
MJ can improve the economy, and doesn't annoy people if they do it sensibly
MJ can also annoy people because the smoke lingers for long, many smoke in the trains, or on the way to the train
The smoke lingers on for like 30-60mins
So everyone gets to smoke it, or smell it, it smells very intensely
Of course a smoker can never smell it themselves, neitherweed or cig smokers!
but nonsmokers get annoyed by smoke, even the smell of a smoker's jacket can be annoying sometimes
Not that I hate smokers, but sometimes it can just be annoying if you got a clean area, and now it smells like smoke everywhere
If everyone took some responsibility there wouldn't need to be any bans... But smokers don't always, they throw their cig buds in the grass.
And hopefully weed can help this, weed often makes people realize they shouldn't destroy nature. Not always though.
Anyway... Big public place + green areas + lots of nice people to talk to + events + great food what's not to like about this?
even non-smokers like me think it's a good idea, we got that here too where weed is illegal, and the food makes the weed trip 10x better. You don't have to walk many miles to find good food. (I used to smoke but quit a few years ago)
