No mycelium, no signs of contamination, WTF
    #21788553 - 06/10/15 02:13 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

After first successful cubensis growing several months later it was attempted to start new PF cakes. But this time something happened and I hope somebody may know what. Standart recipe was used and spore print was working, for exception only different vendor vermiculite and added little chalk powder. Rising to 28-29C and adding more water didn't help. More than several weeks passed. Tried opening lid and probing to see if there was any contamination - none. Strangely unlike previously substrate was easy to keep sterile. Was someting in vermiculite causing that or spores somehow were killed?

Did you scrape a spore print onto your verm layer?

How much air flow do they have? Method of inoculation? Definitely see liquid running down the side if using just a syringe?

Sorry, forgot to mention inoculation technique. Syringe with sterile water and spore mix was injected into pf cake. Restarted one jar this time soaking verm in water and not adding chalk in case there was some fungicides.
Also UV (UV-B) lamp was used to sterilize air, rays might have hit spores too but it was 3 meter distance and for not a lot of seconds.
