Has anyone done this? I'm concerned about temperature fluctuation. I'm reading - about gas exchange. Would that really be a problem? The temp.in my room right now is 82 degrees.I wanna make sure it will stay in a certain range...

Perfect temp for Ps. Cubs to colonize is 86, so at 82 they will do just fine

65F to 75F is the golden zone for colonizing. Going into the mid 80's will allow some competing nasties their ideal colonizing temps. I personally keep things between 70F-75F for colonizing jars and bulk subs, as well as fruiting. Imo, 82F-86F is too high, although your myc will still colonize just fine at those temps provided you followed proper sterile techniques during the beginning stages.

Your temps will be fine. 86F is not optimal for Cubensis. That's old information.

Yes but I'm saying would putting my jars in a cooler prevent it from getting too hot?

No, it wouldn't. But it'll work anyway.

Yeah, 65-75 F is perfect. I just go by the rule that if I'm confy my mushrooms will be too. But I like New Mexico in the Summer so YMMV.

Using a cooler will definitely help with temperature fluctuations. I am currently using a box filled with shipping styrofoam packing peanuts in my closet and it works great!
