Who's your favorite Hockey Player, one past, one present.
    #21787106 - 06/10/15 06:52 AM (8 years, 7 months ago)

From the past, (I know Gordie Howe, and Wayne Gretzky are the obvious choices, among others)
But I have to pic the man in my sig, (R.I.P) Derek "The Boogieman" Boogaard just because he deserves the honor after his life and death, a real tragedy, look it up if you want to see it, theres a good documentary about him called "The rise and fall of an enforcer"
First one is him breaking Todd Fedoruks cheek bone, in one shot. Video Here and here He breaking someones helmet with his fist.

I know there's better players out there, but Boogaard had a cult following in Minnesota, his Jersey was probably the most sold at the time. The boogey man was a force to be reckoned with
Current favorite, is Tyler Johnson

I was always a fan of Danny briere. But I'm also a flyers fan but haven't been keeping up on my hockey at all.

I used to watch hockey as a kid but i forget the players i used to like.  I'm just posting here to say GODDESS DAMNIT, i just realized i left Bernie Parent's autograph at the detox facility i was at recently.  I was going to give it to an older friend who was a fan.  He came in to speak.  Had a good persona and was'nt too preachy.  Shook his hand and he gave me a picture he signed.  I had two folders and only brought one home; must have left it in the other one.  My brain has been mush lately.

Do'nt mind the off-topicness and carry on.  Just realized this mistake, saw a hockey thread, and decided to vent within.

I'd hit it and I'm not even a homo.  He is also probably the best goalie in the league now that Hasek and Brodeur are gone.

Ben bishop is the best.

I'm also a lightning fan so I'm biased.

But it's not hard to make saves when you're 6'7 without skates in a goal. When he crouches down that man leaves fucking no room to score already.

You gotta admit he's fast as fuck for being a 6'7 200+ pound monster.

Bishop has been good throughout the playoffs but we might not see him again. Nobody will say what the injury is but it looks like it might take a month or maybe surgery. He was obviously having a problem and tried to play through it but then he couldn't. The Russian rookie did well filling in. Although losing, he gave up only 2 goals in the Chicago building. Technically the Russian got the victory in game 3 because he finished it.

In Chicago you don't get the Lightning after game report I'm assuming?

Coach says You WILL see bishop in the playoffs again, we just don't know when.

The russian rookie doing well is obvious, the announces fabricated shit to make it seem more interesting. Even the lightnings coach (I forget his fucking name atm and it's bothering the shit out of me) even said he'd be starting for 75 percent of the teams out there.

His save percentage in 16 regular season games for the lightning was like .917 I think. That's absolutely amazing.

I have faith in Vasy. I have Faith in Bishop. We'll see Big Ben again this year, at least from what the team says. It's just a question of game 5, or game 6.

Coach Cooper, like every good coach, is never going to tell the truth about an injury, especially in a heavy contact sport. If you don't think the Hawks will go after Bishop physically, you're mistaken. This isn't Wimbledon. It's the Stanley Cup Finals, and they do want to hurt each other.

You may be better off with Vasi at 100%. In game 3 Bishop was going down and taking several seconds to get back up.

I've been very impressed with Victor Hedman. No matter who wins, the Conn Smythe will probably be won by a defenseman which hasn't happened in 11 years.

I've already seen them go after Ben physically, they punched him in the face basically in game 3, and he took a long long time to get up.

That's what I agree with, I think Vasy is a great goaltender, I'm confident in his abilities, and it really bothers me the announcers talk shit about him, he has potential to be a hall of famer. at 20 years old he replaced evgeni nabakov, if that doesn't tell you how good he is, then his stats will.

He lost a game, so the announcers will probably talk mad shit about how the series will be lost because of Vasy but it's all just media to make shit interesting. When they say "TAMPA HAS ROOKIE BACKUP GOALIE" Everyones like "OH NOES WE GON LOOOSE"

When they say Tampa has a rookie goalie with 16 games regular season, 7 wins, 5 losses,  1 OT,  a .918 Save percentage, and a goals against average of 2.36
His regular season stats are actually better than Bishops

It's suddenly less interesting.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8476883

Also I know it's spelled Vasi-levskiy, but his mask says Vasy on it so that's what I go with.

Oh I have most definitely noticed.  He fills the net.  But the best I have ever seen are Hasek (don't even argue, just don't) Brodeur and Dryden.

Everyone in this thread has posted such great players.

If anyone says Cindy Crosby can we berate them until they stain their tutu's with tears, or is that not allowed in this forum?
