Does this cow patty have p. cubensis mycelium?

Yesterday, I hunted p. cubensis--the mushroom in my region--for the first time and found 3 cubes growing from a cow patty in my uncle's pasture. (Amazing feeling) These are cubes, right?

They have the nipple and bruised blue where I cut the stems with scissors.
Around this particular one I saw several other patties with what I think is mycelium and want to know if it is so, and 2) if so, would anyone be able to tell me how many weeks mature they approximately are? I'm new to this site and eager to learn about shrooms, and I haven't been able to find my answers or much at all about mycelium in the forum other than its white appearance.

Also, being new to this, I made the mistake of picking the 3 cubes too soon out of excitement. They look approximately 12 hours mature. Does this mean that patty probably won't produce any more fruit if those 3 didn't sporulate, or can the mycelium just continually produce them?

Could you perhaps take some more pictures of your find, of the gills and also the part where the blue bruising occurred?

Do you doubt they are cubes? They look pretty on point to me. I see a small amount of bruising at the base of the foremost mushroom in the second picture.

They look like P. cubensis, I agree. I also see very slight blueing on the stem base on the largest one, and a little near the cap margin on the smallest one. But even as it might seem ever so obvious, identifying from pictures can be a tricky game so I always prefer to have a second option before passing the "final judgement". In the end it is the finder that has to make the decision to trust his/her find to be correctly identified.

Well put, I agree. That being said, they are Psilocybe cubensis for sure.

and i think to answer his other question - yes, your cow patty has viable myc in it and may continue to produce more fruit depending on whether its fruiting conditions remain good.
you could possibly transfer that poo to other poo/substrate, but thats just thinking out loud on my part

Thank you! I appreciate your advice. On my next find I know what kind of pictures to take now. I honestly hadn't read the required information for getting id's, so excuse my "noob" ass

Sweet, thanks for answering my question on that. How do you transfer to other poo and what are the advantages of doing that instead of leaving them where they are?

no no no no! you don't eat the patties!!
bloody nooobs!!!
but seriously, if you want to know about that stuff regarding transfering and whatnot, go check out the cultivation forum, they have oodles of teks over there for doing things like that. bear in mind though, with "wild poo" you could have a whole host of other fungi getting along quite amiably in there. you'd have better luck (after thinking about it) to just probably stick a butt into some (different) weathered poo and see what goes.
read up, they're not hard to propagate
have fun, be safe, report back
