"Pickard obtained many of the chemicals and most of the glassware for the laboratory from Alfred Savinelli, the owner of a business in Taos, New Mexico called Native Scents. Native Scents produced and sold scented candles as well as other items. Pickard paid Savinelli over $300,000 from 1995 to 1999 for his help in obtaining the chemicals and glassware."
Doubt that's more than a coincidence. Anything scented would be a typical front for an MDMA operation since sassafras oil is most often used for that kind of stuff legally.
For the sake of the rest of the guys asses I'd sure hope Petaluma Al isn't involved.

Seriously man, all those candles down the drain. The white devil doesn't understand that starving kids in Africa need light at night too! Electricity doesn't grow on trees and now thousands of kids will lose their night light. Sad.

Did he testify during the Pickard/Apperson trial? On a side note, his business is still up and running (http://www.nativescents.com).

No they aren't. One was a confidential informant that was buying LSD from Pickard, the other got glassware chemicals for Pickard and testified against him to not get charged. Why would he have a CI name if he was giving a public testimony? Seems kind of pointless. Also he wasfrom "Petaluma, California" not New Mexico. You could have just used google and 3 minutes of your time to figure this out. Why would they use one of their main LSD customers to source their precursors and glassware from? Seems like a guarantee if he got busted they would too.

Skinner IDs 'ET Man'
The Wamego Times,Volume 116 •Number 8 • February 20, 2003
The DEA informant in the LSD conspiracy case last week identified the "ET Man" in the alleged conspiracy as a man named Jim Miller
Under cross-examination by defense attorney Mark Bennett, Gordon Todd Skinner, former owner of the converted Atlas-E missile base near Wamego which was raided by DEA agents in early November of 2000, reluctantly named the source of the ergotamine tartrate, an LSD chemical precursor valued at approximately $ 100,000 per kilogram.
I don't know what I can legally do here," Skinner responded when asked by Bennett to name the ET source. "I tried not to look at this type of information so I wouldn't become contaminated," Skinner then stated the name of Jim Miller and said he had identified the man's photo from among eight or 10 photos show to him by DEA agents.
Skinner testified that he and Pickard and several others had traveled to Chicago in Vay of 2000, to negotiate a deal for 40 kilograms of ET, According to Skinner, Pickard, the alleged ET Man, and another person sat around a table in a lobby of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, while he (Skinner) and three other associates sat about 40 or 50 feet away.
"I never met the ET Man in my life that I know about," Skinner testified. "I believe it (the guy at the table) was the ET man and I have confirmation of it since then."

FOLLOWING THE October 17-18 interview, Nichols said he corroborated the information obtained from Skinner by comparing it to the names in the LSD database he had developed as a member of the special LSD investigative team. Taped phone conversations between Skinner and Pickard, as well as a subsequent videotaped meeting between the two in a California hotel room provided further corroboration. Finally, Skinner singled out a photo of Alex Reid (Petaluma Al) the member of the organization responsible for drug pickups adn money drops in California. "That was the turning point when I knew Mr. Skinner had significant information about the operation; either that, or he was the luckiest man in the world," Nichols said.
Not to say they never got ET from him, but it says their ET guy was someone else.

I'm pretty sure it's Alec Reid and not Alex Reid. James Edward Miller, also known as Edward James Miller, was at least one person that supplied the 'ergotamine' for the the operation.
