PDYA question

Hello, I've been trying to boil some potatoes to make PDYA agar for use with my pastywhyte easy agar plates. I added 500 mL of water to 150 grams of sliced potatoes, following a recipe posted by Roadkill.
However, the water in the pot always dry up by the time the 30 minutes is up. I put the stove on high until the water is slightly boiling and I turn it down to keep the water at a slight boil.
Any tips to how I should prevent all the water from drying up every time?

it won't answer you question directly, but why don't you just add some water back?!

Well my rationale is that the added water would dilute the potato water. Not sure if that's the right idea, but I will try what you suggest tomorrow.
Thank you!

i'm not sure which recipe you're using, but i think the point is to end with 500 ml of water, then add some agar?

it will dilute the potato water but I'm pretty sure the nutrient content will remain the same. I just made some plates and ran into the same issue so I'd be interested in what others have to say.

Potato Dextrose (Yeast-extract) Agar (PD(Y)A) broth from boiling 150 grams sliced potatoes in 500ml water for 30 minutes(add water to 500ml) (You can use 5 g of instant potato flakes instead) 9 g agar agar 7 grams dextrose( = glucose, or 10 ml honey or corn syrup ) 1 gram brewers yeast or yeast-extract (optional)
This is the recipe I used. I think I'll try adding more water and see if I see any growth.
