Cannabis germination question, because growery is deserted.
    #21781689 - 06/09/15 04:03 AM (8 years, 7 months ago)

Please move this to a different form if it's it the wrong one moderators, but I have a question regarding germination needing an answer.

So if one has left seeds to germinate in a glass jar of water but sort of never got around to planting them for like 3-5 weeks, can one still plant them or has one waited far to long and fucked up? The seeds have come completely off and its a very very long white sprout with a double leaf clover floating in the water, can one still plant it or is that far to long in a glass jar? Is there hope?

Idk its swims, pics tomorrow, I assume these are going to disintegrate with the slightest touch, how on earth will one transplant them to soil without breaking them?

Its fine dude. Plant them with the leaves sticking out of the soil then quit using seeds and clone!

How deep should they be planted?

Don't put too much thought into it. Green growy part above ground, rooty thing underground.

definitely understand the challenge of maneuvering the sprout, easier said than done.  but I don't believe it'll inherently be a fail or anything, just need to be extra careful lol.  It's not like you need to feed nutes the first two weeks anyway, so I say it's worth a shot.

I also feel like the plant will fix itself/you can always transplant - so plant it deep enough that just the green sprout is above ground

Its good to use tweezers to handle the seeds once germinated. I never handle mine with my bare hands, they're very delicate once they've germinated

I agree, forgot to add that.  It's a PITA, like trying to pick up clumps of ash without crumbling them lol

Your more likely to damage it using tweezers. That's not a great idea, your fingers will have more sensitivity.
Growing top level pot is pretty involved but at the same time, its called weed for a reason. You can hardly keep it from growing so don't baby the seedlings too much. I would water once then leave it alone for at least a week( under cfl anyhow).
You really should be cloning if this isn't your first grow too.

I've seen plenty of people use tweezers.
Do you not have steady hands to gently grab a seed?

Plus its much easier to plant/maneuver a seed with tweezers

I always use my index finger and thumb to grab it around the base of the stem; Like a fine wine.
Might want to wash your hands beforehand though. :goodluck:

While its true any dipshit can grow a plant or two, it takes a skilled cultivator to grow a dank plant with a heavy yield.
Just like with mushrooms, anyone can grow cubes. But only skilled cultivators can push out 8oz+ flushes

I said that before the part you quoted.
On the subject of handling fragile sprouts, its common sense, more surface area(finger tips) makes it less likely to get damaged. Both ways would work though of course.

Stick it in the ground as deep as possible, feed at 1/8 strength nutes after 5 days and then at 1/4 strength after another 10 days. Care full not to overwater.

Just put them under 16 hours light, 8 hours dark; 6500k CFL, and maybe add a bit more water.

Is compost suitable? Has warnings about some disease due to microorganisms on the bag. can this be used inside? sorry I know nothing about growing the shit
