Misting tips for a newbie

Hi guys. Thanks to the collective knowledge of this awesome community my friends cakes are finally starting to pin. He is using a SGFC with brf cakes and things seem to be going pretty well as there is very rapid growth and some healthy looking fruits.
However, he is wondering how heavily to mist the cakes. After looking through the forums here I haven't been able to find a good answer for him in terms of the optimal volume of water. Should each misting heavily saturate the cakes and chamber? Or should it be a couple of squirts from the bottle to make a fairly light spread?
It seems that the water lands on the aluminum that the cakes are resting on and tends to stick around for a while. Most of the larger fruits are growing from out of the bottom of the cakes.
He told me that he flipped one of the cakes(12+ fruits underneath) and wiped down the aluminum for the others which are growing a bit slower. (was picking up the cakes with a gloved hand a bad idea at this point?)
I was also thinking maybe it would be a good idea to trim the aluminum a bit into a circular shape so that water will just hit the perlite and wont pool under the cakes. As it is the aluminum foil takes up quite a lot of space.

Verm has it's on sparkle because of some of the smoothe surfaces of the little bits. But we mean the glistening from the water itself.
Mist cakes directly until they glisten with moisture. When it's not glistening anymore, but still appears damp, you can mist again. You can even let the verm dry a little and some people actually prefer that. Only fan right after misting, if at all, and only a couple of passes with the lid is all it takes. The fanning is mostly to remove any old air and some argue not really even needed because the SGFC is constantly replacing the air.
No need to roll after the 1st flush.

Ok so don't mess with the cakes, don't fan the shit out of them, keep them glistening with moisture.
Basically the opposite of what was getting done. Shit.
Thanks for the info guys.
