ID Request NZ - P.subaeruginosa?
    #21780366 - 06/08/15 07:44 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

Habitat
Eg. Found on the edge of an area where a lot of trees had been cut down,  were growing in the grass with twigs and other wood pieces lying around.  The class mate here is temperate, moving towards the end of the mushroom season.

Gills:
Colour was a very light brown/tan, pretty sure gills were free.

Stem:
White stem, quite long relative to cap size.

Cap:
All were a light yellowy brown in colour, cap size varied but the largest were about 5cm in diameter maybe.

Bruising:
Blue bruising on stems, caps and gills all had blue bruising, some had a serious amount.

Fairly sure these are P.subaerunginosa but if you think otherwise I'm all ears.  c:

Thanks in advance for your help.

I cannot tell from that last pic that all your finds are good.

but your closeups are Psilocybe subaeruginosa

make sure they all bruise blue.

Just curious how come you think we are moving towards the end of the season if you are in NZ? Pretty sure our season goes for another 2 months doesnt it? It is my first season properly hunting so I could be wrong.

This is only my second season so I'm pretty inexperienced, and from the info I've found the seasons supposed to go till august-ish.  However I know of some
patches that spit out mushies consistantly and theres been less flushes recently.  Could just be my meddling though.
