Ovoid stem butts

Earlier today I found a patch of ovoideocystidiata. The area is not a place I can visit as I please so I need to propagate them in another area. I know a few good habitats but I need to figure out how to make spawn.
I read a little on stem butt propagation. The tek I read said to soak cardboard in water and sandwich the stem butts in between the layers. Once the mycelium colonizes a bit of the cardboard cut it up and mix into pre-soaked wood chips or mulch then spread the colonized chips into a proper habitat.
Is this the ideal method for stem butt propagation? Any specific wood? I would think as long as it's not pine it should be ok. Also do you think it would be better to have freshly mulched wood or stuff that has been rained on a bit? If the spot flushes again I will be collecting spores to start on agar. I printed the freshest specimen at the spot but don't know if it will drop spores.
Thanks everyone.

First thing - cardboard its an outdated method that didnt get me as far as stem butts have so I don't reccomend using it.
Buy Scott's Sierra woodchips , soak the woodchips , fill up a tote bin of any size with woodchips and sawdust to fill in the gaps then drill some holes for drainage. Make sure you don't skip out on drilling holes on the bottom or else the bacteria starts to grow and your mycelium might stall,
I usually spilt the stems down the middle into little slivers that way i get the most volume from the mushroom and then do a layer of stems , with a layer of woodchips , then repeat.
Any wood except redwood and cedar would work fine , the reason cedar won't work is becaus Cedar is high in sap content and redwood doesn't decay. Hardwoods work the best for psilocybe woodlovers.
You can even use the stem butts to clone with agar , I think the smaller mushrooms(pins) are more vigorous for agar cloning and agar certainly works much better than stem butts.
Good luck

Thanks for the input man. I don't have enough to layer with chips so will have to try something else. I guess I'll have to figure out agar, is it possible without a pc?. We got rain today so I'm hoping the patch fruits again to get a spore print.
I have to make sure these get started in another spot for the coming years.

Ok I've had then in cardboard for almost 2 weeks now. They seem to be chugging along. I mist the cardboard occasionally and that's it. I'm not sure at which point to start introducing wood chips or saw dust. Do I wait until it is fully colonized? I put the stem butts on cardboard on the 8th, here is a picture of them on the 13th.

Here is one today.

Should I just let them keep going for a while? Hoping I can eventually spread these because I have only found one small patch. Any input or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
