First Grow Help - Blue Cake
    #21778371 - 06/08/15 11:29 AM (8 years, 7 months ago)

Hey guys, Hoping you can help me here. This is my first grow and I'm finding it exciting but I may have come home to some sad news one of my cakes has started turning blue and I'm not sure if I should get rid or not.

After reading some posts on the forum I thought it could have possibly been bruising but now I'm thinking different maybe dehydration or contamination maybe? Iv attached some picks for your advice. Thanks in Advance.

That looks green, like trich, to me. I'd toss the cakes before they contaminate the rest, not worth the risk imo.

Otherwise, blue subs generally mean stress from dehydration.

Gone! Thanks guys,
Damn that's a shame was all going well till today!
How likely do you think it will be the other cakes are contaminated? The other two that are currently in there have started to get fluffy but no blue or green bits yet as far as I can see.

Were you misting that cake and whatnot? How's the fruiting chamber look? I hear that fuzziness can be from lack of fresh air exchange.

Yeah, Iv have been misting regularly and I think the chamber is fine, I was given it by a friend who has some experience in growing.
I do have the chamber in a closet and it's been kept closed the majority of the time, would you suggest getting a better air flow within the closet?

If the closet is opened and the fruiting chamber is at least 6 inches from the walls and floor, you should be good. Mine's on top of an upside-down milk crate. Works like a charm.

It's not six inches from the walls more like 3 or 4 I will go give it some more room. Good advice thank you!
Fingers crossed the others haven't been infected! Oh well It's all part of the learning process I guess.

Thanks again!
