My friend is looking for advice

My friend has 10 years experience working with Cubase. He also has several years working with Adobe premier pro and with HDSLR Cameras -- such as the Mark ii.
The question is:
What kind of job can he acquire with his said skills?

Does he have a portfolio?
If not, maybe he can start there

He's been working 10 years in his field and he still doesn't know what the opportunities are for him?
He clearly hasn't paid attention or doesn't give a shit with his career.
Unless he just wants to get out of that field but based on your post, he doesn't.
He should know by now what is available to him

He knows that all he can be is a Starbucks employee, so he's buying time by questioning his opportunities. Classic case of the 30 year old nothingness.

It's just 2 programs and a camera.. That's not really "working in a field". I have a couple years experience messing with video editing software, doesn't mean I was working in the video editing field and know what opportunities there are for me (if any at all)..

Yes but 10 years? That implies a job that can make him survive for 10 years. When you're in any field for 10 years and have been able to put food on your table, you should know a little more than that

Like I said, I've got a couple years experience working with video editing software. It was only a hobby, I've never been paid for it nor had any job remotely related to it. What I'm getting at is just because he has experience with these programs doesn't mean he's "worked" in the field a single day of his life. Given the question I'm assuming it was a hobby and he's not sure how he can turn that experience into a job. He could've been flipping burgers for 10 years while messing with this in his off time. With that there's no reason at all why he should know more than that.

A lot of design oriented studies entail some sort of Photoshop/Illustrator courses. Maybe he can look into teaching.
He def needs to starts setting up some websites/business type thing so at least on paper it looks like he did actual work. Get a good looking online portfolio. It worked for me
