Collapse of the World
    #2177801 - 12/14/03 10:51 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

In my last trip, I had been sipping mushroom tea on an empty stomach since 9 PM. I wanted a low dose to compose music and I had relatives over. Every once in a while I had a small stem of dried fungus to keep it going. Around 4 AM, some 7 hours later, I went to take the trash to a dumpster one block away. I was at about a level 1. It was about 28 degrees F. I didn't bother to put on a coat. When I got to the dumpster, I stopped to look at the stars. They were extra clear. I got a little vertigo.

When I came back in the house I all of a sudden got that "Oh, shit!" feeling as the entire world collapsed and I bolted to a level 3 or 4 in minutes. I focused on my breathing and fought the panic and came back to a level two shortly thereafter. The trip continued for another 3 or 4 hours.

The length of the trip was greatly extended by continuous small dosing, but the sudden peak very late in the trip was puzzling. Not sure if it was the cold or the stars that catalyzed the change.

Interesting story, but what does this have to do with Spirituality or Philosophy?

Actually sounds like an unexpected gift from the mushroom gods. I hope you had fun!

It was the stars, man.

It was the stars.

Well.. and the shrooms. The shrooms too.

But mostly the stars

When I get that "Oh, shit!" feeling, it's usually because I just locked my keys in the car...

Very interesting, Swami.

The same thing happened to me when I was experimenting with capsules and cubie powder. It was my 19th birthday... the family was coming over in the evening. At about 11:00 am, I downed two capsules packed tight as hell with about 1g. At 2:00, when I was feeling hardly anything (no visuals, not tripping, just an almost imperceptible sensory enhancement), I figured the capsules must not have dissolved right and were only slowly leaking their payload.

Well, the family shows up at like 4:00 and I'm just a little disappointed. At 4:30 I started feeling a like a small trip was coming on... no big deal I thought. Then, BAM!!! It hits me.... hard. In front of family and everything. It sucked, but my brother helped cover for me. It didn't last but 15 minutes... then it all went away within an hour. Just weird.

This phenomenon DOES happen. It should be studied with multiple bioassayists.

was the stars, man.

It was the stars.

That is certainly what it felt like. But how might that possibly amplify a trip? *scratches logical, but balding cranium*

Lots of reasons. The mere act of gazing at the heavens in all of it's splendour and glory is enough to send most rational mortals reeling to comprehend its existence and purpose, which of course causes a complex chain of chemical reactions in the body, that would sufficiently 'kick up' a shroom trip with natural 'brain juices' mmmm...

that's the scientific explanation anyway

Swami:

very much so, maybe it is the void in between the start of the mushroom loop. Or existence loop, it seems that all living things and everything follow that, a birth a life and a death. Maybe you experienced that cycle where you just drop off, and it could be asociated with feeligns of "the end of the world". We drop off our old identities, and we resume our present state of awareness... You SPACED OUT!!! LOL...

you are not in the universe, the universe is in you

looking to the stars on shrooms will show you this, u will feel it, even at low doses it will get more intense by focusing your energy to the sky

it's weird how that happens. it's like, wow when you lok up. there's a lot of shit out there that we have no clue about, that's enough to be in awe and splendor.

something about the unknown, the uncertain, get's the juices flowing.

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.---senior doobie
