I take pride in all of my work. I do my very best, to do the very best job possible every time. (within the limits of what the customer is willing to pay for) I guess the thing i'm most proud of is repiping my grandmothers house for her without a helper. It took at least twice as long, but i did the whole thing myself. I also remodeled my mom's kitchen with no skilled help. It was cool to do some cross-trade shit with high stakes. Came out nice. I was shitting bricks the whole time though, because i had to cut and polish the granite slabs for the countertops, and that was one thing that i was pretty iffy on at the time (i worked at a cabinet shop when i was a teenager so that part wasn't so scary)

im especially bad about it, because i'm skinny, and i'm freeballin.
it's not that i want to show off my crack, so much as crouching and kneeling is the name of the game in plumbing

yeah sounds pretty cool. like alot of my friends parents when we were growing up were tradesmen too and like his dad would be driving us somehwere and while we're driving he'd point to atleast like 2-3 houses along the way saying " yep, i built that ". and one of my uncles built this giant water feature out the front of a casino/club thing in his hometown which was immaculate.
kinda cool how they have something to show for their work you know? rather then some office guy who just does his job day in day out and really creates nothing of value.
plus its good skills to have. being able to fix shit and make shit. its a good thing
you run your own business or you work for someone else??

I've quit plumbing for the most part recently, and just do a few side jobs when i can. I'm currently a student studying agricultural business.
but to answer your question, i've tried it both ways. Working for someone else is kinda cool, because its their responsibility to keep you working 5 days. but the hourly isn't always so hot ya know? Being in business for yourself pays much better, but it takes an extra skillset, and its much more work. Also, advertising is expensive, and when youre the boss, the only way you're gonna stay working is through advertising, so there's an upfront cost(though its tax deductable)

sometimes with these old style toilets, you can just put a little bend in the float rod, and the ballcock will shut right off.

what brand? theres probably a set screw somewhere, find it and loosen it if you haven't already. spray some WD-40 in there. wrap a rag around the base of the handle, and tap firmly with the handle of your hammer. tap several times(just tap, don't beat the shit out of it) going around the whole thing(or as much as you can if space is restricted on the back side.) Now, remove the rag, and grip the base of the handle with your hands. aplly a steady upwards pull while wiggling side to side. continue until you are tired or until the handle comes loose. in times of deperation, you can put a rag down on the sink edge/countertop and use the handle uf a channel locks pliers or another tool with a rubber handle as a lever to try and wedge it off. use the lever on both side, alternating until the bastard comes loose

if you are looking for the set screw, its probably underneath the logo on the handle. logo tab should pop right out and you'll need a small allen wrench to loosen the screw
good night and good luck

yah i already tried to take it off before, with the set screw all the way out, the thing wouldn't move at all. So the rag is just to shield the handle from scratches, well i got a rubber hammer, ill just hit it with that.
as for the brand, not sure because its not listed anywhere on it, all i know is the handle is L shaped

i banged on it for 30 minutes, couldn't get it to move.
im sure wd-40 would help but i wouldn't want to drink the water afterwords, and id be worried about trace amounts sticking around for a while
and being an L type handle, im not sure those faucet pullers are going to work. from what ive read most of them are shitty chinese crap that bends and breaks or slips, and because the top is curved on the handle of the faucet, im guessing its just going to slip
i was hitting it so hard the entire base of the faucet slid back and forth, and i tried 'upshots' hitting the bottom of the handle. obviously i could hit it alot harder but thing is our water shutoff under the sink isn't shuting the water off all the way, there's still a small trickle, so if i fuck this faucet up at the handle, i might have water running all over the counter or dripping below the sink, otherwise id have to shut the entire house off and that would suck
comon plumber man give me your good stuff

WD-40 will not get into your water from spraying the handle, but if youre worried about it, try some CLR or white vinegar. are you in a house or apt.? if its a house, go outside and turn the water off to the house. if its an apt, you probably ahve to give your neighbors 24 hours notice because you might be shutting their water off too. under the sink, theres gonna be either 1 or 3 nuts holding the faucet to the sink. If you have a basin wrench, thats the tool youre gonna want to use to tighten those nuts back up so that your faucet wont move on you. once you have done that, try the lever technique that i described again. It's entirely possible, depending on how old and how expensive your faucet is, that your best bet is gonna be to install a new one. where i live you can get a decent faucet for $150 or so. Theres cheaper ones too. It sounds to me like you have either a moen or a price pfister. If its a moen, youre gonna need a moen cartridge puller to do any repair on it. While you have the water off to the house anyway, now would be a good time to replace those angle stops under the sink that won't shut off all the way. (just make sure you get the same kind to make it easy on yourself). Seriously though, if it is giving you too much trouble, just throw it away and install new. It's not worth killing your day to save the $100 or so.

just stand on top of a large green pipe until they walk underneath you. Then jump down onto their heads with crushing force until they are flattened into gore.
