All this Wade talk and I forgot to mention he's joining the ABC/ESPN broadcast crew for I think games 2-4. Should be fun to hear how he talks about Lebron in tonight's game.
Quote:
Malcolm_Xtasy said: It really is. He barely plays half a season these days. If they do offer him that 22 million they'll literally be paying him 1 mil per game
I think it seems like he's injured a lot more than he really is because there's been so many games over the past 3 years where he's started, but ended up playing less than 20 minutes. Especially on long road trips when Lebron was dominating.
He started 54, 69, and 49 games respectively in that time. Not too shabby.

Yeah I guess I'm just being a dick. Zappa is right regardless though. If the heat want to be relevant in the east these next couple years there's no way in hell they should give him that much money.

It's all good, man. You're absolutely right about Zappa being absolutely right lol.
It's not good for a team to make a financial decision based on personal interests obviously, but I do like the fact that it occurs once in a while in the NBA.

It's all about the money. There plucked out of the hood offered millions of dollars because there talented. Then the bank billions. Rich white men. What owner of a team is black?
Money. Money

It's pretty crazy to think that out of all the 92 teams in the NBA, D-League, and other affiliate teams that MJ is the sole black owner.
You do have to be a billionaire or pretty damn close to one to own a pro team (of any sport) in the US.
Besides MJ, I can't think of any well known black billionaires in America...

I forgot about Oprah but she was the only American on the list.
All the other folks on there are African and built their wealth there. I was trying to think of any black people that have both the financial means as well as the interest to own a NBA team.

There's probably at least a couple of rappers. Jay Z and Kanye come instantly to mind. Isn't one of them involved in the Nets?

Yeah jay z is a part owner of the nets. Isn't magic Johnson a part owner of the dodgers as well?

Yea, not very fun ball to watch so far. KThompson is racking up the points for GS but he needs to give the ball up more to get his teammates in rhythm.
Cleveland is just downright boring to watch when LBJ is on the bench with Kyrie being out.

No he’s not. like at all.....
Wade is still one of the best 2 guards in the game and one of the most experienced players in the league. The salary cap is about to jump anyway and thats the price you are going to have to keep a hall of fame 2 guard anyway. He is most certainly still effective and is the reason they have 3 titles. Going into full fledged rebuild right now would be foolish, they missed the playoffs by 1 game.
Of course someone who only cares about the bottom line (zappa) has no sense of loyalty. Business decisions are about so much more than just the bottom line. You know what happens to a manager who is shitty to his best people and doesn’t inspire loyalty? He loses all his talent, then the support of financiers, eventually resulting in him losing his job. Stick to carpentry... Wade is an invaluable part of a cog that delivered 3 rings and what 7 ECFS? Undoubtable addition to the Hall of Fame
GTFO with that what country bumfuck what have you done for me lately crap. Oh what did he do
Zap couldn’t assemble a winner if they spotted him MJ.

I don't know if you quoted me to say Zappa was wrong or what, but I agree with him that it makes no fiscal sense. From a purely fiscal standpoint, a great 2 Guard that can only give you 25 MPG on average is not worth anywhere near 24 million a year for 3 years.
I agree with you though when it comes to paying him that because of who he is, what he's done in the league, and well, as you put it; Loyalty. For that he is worth 24 mil to the Miami Heat any day of the week.
I already said give him his damn money.
You watching the GS game? It's finally starting to get good. The low scoring for the first 3 quarters was making me not be able to pay attention for too long.

That has to be one of the most embarrassing things to happen to a NBA player through his career.
I don't know if you watch games all season long but it happens pretty frequently and everytime the player's reaction is priceless. Just so much shame or they look at the ball like nothing in the world makes sense anymore.
Yea, you know that look. lol

I'm pretty sure he was fuckin around. He used to post in here quite a bit before so he knows all about playing with balls. Never his own balls, though. Weird.
