Well I saw that a little spot on my caing was going blue and so I misted the casing and , to be honest ALOT of the white on top has a blue tinge to it, whats the deal??????????
This reminds me of a spent cake , but this casing hasent even had one flsh yet!
the details: I have had this casing in the fruiting chamber for about 6 days, everything is set right 75 degrees on the dot, the casing was soaked down for 3 days in th incubator and has been in the fruiting chamber for like I said about 6 maybe 7 days, and just today I notice the bluing on top, whats the deal?????
good thing this is a small test casing, cause I have 3 quarts ready to go after this mini casing

Well angryshrooms I DID mist the fruiting chamber alot LAST NIGHT, while trying to not mist the mycelium thats poking through the verm, and maybe since I sprayed so much thats what made a SMALL section blue Cause when I saw the small section was blue I misted more and REALLY quickly more of the white went blue, its really pretty but I dont know if I have a problem. Anyway, no misting and more fanning for awhile I guess????? in a way I am happy my other FAT jars are not ready cause this min test casing is a learing experience, I know once I finally get pins I will like casings better (by the way this substrate is WBS!!!) But I will always have cakes to, case hey....why not

I fanned with electric fan pretty close for about 1 minute today, but I guess it was the water that caused the blueness??????
it looks GOOD like psilocybin, not like blue green mold
SO whats the deal psychedelasluts??

Well, I'll tell you what.
In the wild, Ps. cubensis as well as Ps. cyanescens will eventually turn blue if either the conditions were unfavorable or if there was a heavy rain.
Since mycelium is basically the same as the mushroom tissue, it could easily bruise due to the fact of heavy mistings and then lots of fanning.
I would expect there would be no damage to your actual casing. You'll probably be fine.
What you will want to do is make sure your humidity is nice and high, and to mist lightly only when needed. Mist at least 2 feet above the casing and doing it so it falls gently onto the casing. Fan a few times a day as well. Just be easy and you'll be fine

It's possible you have too much of H202 in your spray mist. I've seen my damage like this before.

I currently have P. Cubensis GT casing going right now... Im not too sure if its the conditions inside my FC or what but the mycelium has been blue here and there for a while now. Seems to be producing ok.
