so i heard that psilocin is unstable and breaks down quickly due to heat and oxidation.
does anyone maybe have any graphics or studies saved to back this up? ive been searching google for an hour and couldnt find any results.
if its true that psilocin degrades from storing is there a noticeable difference of ptoency from fresh to dried shrooms?

seeing as you can fry cubes in a pan with butter and still trip I would say don't worry about it.
people have pressure cooked jars of cubes and still tripped
potency loss occurs before the fruits are cracker dry. get them dry as fast as possible. most tried and true passed down by top of their game cultivators is the 160F food dehydrator for 12+ hours.

this is just for educational purpose since im arguing with a friend atm. you obviously could still trip because psilocybin breaks down at 300F (or so i read here from a trusted cultivator) then the pslocybin is broken down into psilocin inside your body which causes the trip.
im iterested in the breakdown of psilocin not psilocybin
thx for your input doe

they both melt in the 400+ range that's melt not boil or vaporize.
psilocin isn't just oxidized for no good reason, it's oxidized in wet fruits that are not yet dry because the cells start to autolyze and intracellular enzymes will start to break down(oxidize) chemicals in the mushroom that's why we dry quickly, an enzyme like MAO oxidizes it in our bodies otherwise it would just persist.

so if immediatly dried there is no difference in fresh to dried mushrooms even after weeks of storage?

there's anecdotal reports the trips on the equivalent weight of fresh mushrooms are better. but I think that's just because you think you're eating fresh shrooms and you think they're better.
once properly dried and stored I havent noticed a lick of potency decrease over months. in air tight jars.

Dude, a buddy of mine had cracker dry shrooms in a ziplock bag for 2 years in his nightstand and still tripped when he ate em. This is the best way imo:
Grow a good, genetically potent strain Pick before they break the veil Food dehydrator @ 110F for 8-12hrs

I was also gonna say, I almost made a vacuum desiccant chamber because I got caught up on thoughts like this from the OP. I even considered flashing with nitrogen gas before sealing in bags. Glad I didn't waste any time/money in this drying vs potency rabbit hole.
