Some of the best plants Ive seen were landrace. My buddy who grows medicinally for himself and another patient grow exclusively landrace strains.

it all depends on the phenotypes that pop out of your seeds.....AFOAF is a strain hunter and most recently went to jamaica looking for something idk what though i dont know them very well
but basically they go to get landrace strains - as many seeds from each strain as possible - then you grow each seed, cut like 5 clones per strain during veg (label them all the way it makes it way easier) and keep them under minimal light like a small T5 or something so the clones grow super slow.
then you flower out all of your vegged plants.....whichever seed grows and flowers the best, you keep the clones you cut during veg and throw away all of the other clones - you now have the best phenotype of the seeds you popped
thats when you decide whether you want to keep the phenos original or cross them depending on how well your best phenotype came out
let me know if i missed any of your questions

I've watched all the strain hunters videos and their primary purpose seems to be finding original landraces.
Once they acquire seeds from a landrace plant they bring them back to grow under ideal, controlled conditions.
Do I have it right so far? Now my question is, are any of the pure landrace strains actually worth buying or growing out by you? Would you personally grow a pure Hindu Kush plant, or would you rather cross it with something?
I'm curious mostly because the landraces don't seem to posses very high THC levels. Does this change dramatically when grown indoors?
The indian seeds i've had literally became trees
humongous fucking trees

Who even cares what kind it is. Smoke it and enjoy. Call it samurai gold if it makes you happy, call it purple kush if it makes you happy..
Oh, it's definitely kush. It's always kush, my dealer said so.

wow.. this post is still kicking..lol
Yea, I mentioned before i'll let the smoke speak for itself.lol
I noticed some people were able to give some insight or educated opinion based on density and red hair.. . I figured there's some attributes to a plant that separate it from others and someone would know and some would not..
it was a nice buzz, not too head high. kinda clear but yet left me mellow.. I felt like I knew what i was doing, felt clear .. but then I realized, man i'm baked.

you can make almost any weed plant a tree....my friend has a double diesel plant that he uses strictly for clones and leaves it in veg as a mother, its ~7ft tall now and being held back by the ceiling and still growing
as far as flowered plants though the tallest ive seen were ~6.5-7ft tall from the substrate

I love growing landraces. My favorite strain to grow is actually from a Mexican brick weed farm and has been grown there for many years by the same family. Is it technically a landrace? I don't know, but it's become acclimated to my local area and the seeds have been passed on here in southern Ohio at least since the 70s. That's also why a lot of the 'homegrown' in my area has a real distinct and similar look, smell and taste. Most of it has been grown outdoors from the same genetics for generations. I've stuck seeds in the ground from these genetics, never waterered them, put them in a spot with only a few hours of sun a day at most and they will still grow amazingly on their own.

Yeah, but the biggest plants on Earth grown naturally are coming from India and Nepal, so there's something about their genetics that makes them more susceptible to becoming monsters than other strains. On their own they get so big they don't even look like weed plants anymore. It's the perfect cover for a stealth grower - plants so good they don't even look like pot plants.
The only shit I know of that compares in the way they grow are plants being heavily mothered and bred by people out in Cali / medical states.

didnt know that about the india and nepal fact....but yeah, the only thing ive seen that i think would compare are the 20+ft trees they grow in cali and in greenhouses here and other legal/med states
never seen one of those 20 footers IRL but ive seen some ridiculous pics from friends......like people using ladders to fuck with the plants

Looks like Kush to me. Of the Fire OG variant. Then again it could be a number of strains. But my money is on Fire OG or BC kush

Hard to tell. So many strains that looked alike its not even funny. example, i work for a grower and I have continuously gone to harvest and mistaken holy grail kush for larry OG multiple times. same bud leaf structure veins everything.
would be easier ( not by much) if to tell if it wasn't manicured.
