Any tattoo artists out there? Or those knowledgable in shop prices?

I'm currently saving my chips up for a new piece of ink. I need a rough estimate of a price though. I understand it's hard to give an estimate because it depends on a few different variables (size, color, detail, time, quality). But I'm looking to get an exact replica of the piece listed below. A water color tattoo with no black outlines. So whoever does it has to have excellent color control and years under their belt in the style. I will pay top dollar to get it done, but my question is - what is an estimate of top dollar for the piece listed below?

Definitely a higher price than I was anticipating. Looks like I'll be saving for awhile because I want this done :P. I was thinking $350-500

Could be in that range, I am just speculating. It is a fairly large piece with a lot of color though.
My guy is basically 100$ an hour but that includes the prep work as well.

I was just curious. Maybe I'll save up $1000 into the fund just to be safe. I am getting this done regardless of the price or path to ensue. Going to feel lovely on my foot. Think I can take it all in one session? I've got 7 other tattoos but none on my feet :P

I can only do 5hrs, after that I am over being poked. Besides I feel the artist gets tired as well.
I have one on my foot and it didn't hurt much other then the very outside of my foot near the bottom, that was painful but the top area was easy. People all have different tolerance and the artist have lighter or heavier hands. I always found artist who dab blood as apposed to wiping makes a huge difference in irritation.

That piece wouldnt run me more than $250..
Youre absolutely getting ripped off if any shop asks for more than $300 for that piece.
I talk to a lot of artists, have a loooot of ink, and do amateur tttos myself.
That piece is not worth more than $300 maximum.
Also consider adding your own touch to it, thats someone elses tattoo already...

I'd say closer to $300-400, although I live in a pricey area. Dont copy this guys tattoo though, that is lame.

Yea I am in socal so inflation is at play. I always err on over paying and tipping personally, a permanent tattoo is not something to bargain deal.
Also not real close with the guy who does my stuff, so I'm sure prices drop the closer you are.

It's an Alex grey artwork. Album cover of tool's 10,000 days aswell. This guy isn't the only person with this tattoo either, I'm sure. I'm going for the same artwork and color. Maybe I'll add some kind of twist but I doubt it. I want the original artwork

Sure he's not the only one with the tattoo if it's an album cover, you're right someone else probably has it also. But you plan on copying it exactly to the T and you plan on putting it in the same spot? That's about as unoriginal as it gets. I don't mean to sound like a hater, and I'm sure you'll never meet the guy who's tattoo that is, but still man. Don't just pick and stick shit from Google. If you're gunna regret any ink it's gunna be that one.

that should run around 300. but it's considered pretty shitty to copy someone's tattoo. spend the time to research all the artists in your area, and if it's an album cover then take it to them, or simply send it to them online with detail on exact size and location and they can usually give you an estimate. prices per shop (where i live anyway) vary between 80$ and 120$ an hour, and expect to give your artist 15-20% tip.
