Habitat: Grew on a log in deciduous forest in the Northern Midwest US in Duluth, Minnesota. Log was partially rotting with some holes in it. The mushrooms were growing out of the holes in clusters of 2-5.
Gills: The gills appear dark brown. Some of the gills appear to be adnexed while others seem subdecurrent. Free gills.
Stem: The stems are about 0.5-1.5cm wide and 4-6cm tall (this is just estimation, there was no measurement taken) and seem to be a brownish color with whiteish and greyish splotches occasionally. A small ring can be seen at the top of the stem near the cap on some of the stems. I think this might be where the veil broke. The stems don't seem to swell on either side or in the middle; rather equal width throughout.
Cap: No specific measurement on cap size. They appeared to be 3-5cm and conical kind of leaning on flat. Dark brown in some sections but orangish-golden in others. There appears to be at least one albino one.
Spore print color: The spore print came out in a rusty orange color.
Bruising: No visible bruising.
Other information: The mushrooms had a very mild scent if any at all. They smelled like mushrooms but in no specific way. These were found yesterday in 60 to low 70 degree Fahrenheit weather. It was sunny that day but had been raining several days before. They were found in a dank area with lots of green on the ground, moss on the log they were found on, and rotting logs scattered throughout the region.
Below are a slew of pictures I took of the mushrooms wet. The total weight of them wet is 18.07g and the count of the mushrooms is 50 exactly. Not all of the mushrooms are pictured here but I have them all pictured. I think they might be gymnopilus junonius but I'm not sure; I'm an inexperienced mushroom hunter. I've currently got them drying right now and will be able to update with pictures of them dry when they're done.

Thanks in advance!

Those are def. not Gymnopilus and look more like Galerina or something similar looking in my opinion.

believe the TI. def not gyms and those prints are browner than orange.
gyms are unmistakably orangier. when you actually find some it will be very apparent these weren't that close.
very nice ID request though, and welcome to the forum. you probably have another month before you'll really want to go whole hog hunting those, so look at lots of pictures meantime
