Possible contamination, did I do the right thing?

PF tek, I just birthed my jars. Out of seven jars, one jar had a small spot that was yellowish and looked like possible contamination. Aside from that spot, the mycelium looked healthy. I took a knife and sliced off that area and then put the jar into dunk in a separate container from the other jars.
When I fruit, can I put this jar in the same fruiting chamber as the other jars or am I risking contamination?

From what I understand, after your cakes are fully colonized it's hard for a contamination to take over, so you should be safe. Personally, if you think it's contaminated I would isolate it. Most people would suggest you throw it out immediately.
Edit: Also, the yellow could be motabilites and not a contamination at all.

You sound fine, if you haven't already dunked it put a trace amount of peroxide into the isolate dunking water. That'll eradicate any contams your knife missed (likely). On the one hand if 1 really is contaminated they prob all are, on the other hand fully colonized mycelium has already declared king of the hill and nothing short of really nasty will knock it off. Especially on a brf cake, those are hearty mofos.

Not totally accurate. Peroxide can be used as treatment for cobweb mold (which people rarely get actual cobweb mold).
Aside from that, If there is an actual contam set in, peroxide is not going to help. There really isn't much use for peroxide in mycology other than cobweb mold treatment. The only other way I have ever heard of it being used is dipping tissue samples in it when taking clones for putting to agar. And I am not even sure that is feasible as peroxide inhibits the growth of mycelium.

youve likely been overzealous and chopped off metabolites. if its contaminated its usually waaaay more funky in which case go straight outddoors and let mother nature take care of it!
