How many cacti can I get from these cuttings?
    #21772108 - 06/06/15 09:37 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

My grandfather has a really big San Pedros Cactus and he cut me 2 big sized cuttings, he told me to let them dry out then plant them. I want to know how many cuttings can I get from these big pieces. Also, they've been sitting in that spot for about 3 weeks give or take a few days.

not a San Pedro, a cereus of some sort.

you can cut them as small as an inch, but it will take incredibly long to root. Id cut them into 10-12 inch cuttings or leave them as is, since they are not what you thought.

How can you tell? I thought it was a San Pedro Cactus due to it's spikes being short and black like images I've seen.

The ribs are too skinny to be E.pachanoi, as said before probably C.peruvianus.

The ribs are thin and stick out far. San pedro ribs are more rounded.

Nice cereus cutting there. I'd cut it at about 12in each and grow it out for the fruit they produce:grin:
