Cloning from sterile culture pin

Hey all,
So 7 weeks after MS innoc of PF Classic, in the jar I used for a G2G to get spawn for tubs a couple weeks back, this (and a couple other) pin popped up. Usually when I try cloning off fruits I get lots of contams, but this one has been in sterile culture all the time. So, (a) I now know this resolutely mostly nonrhyzo myc fruits (yea!) and (b) cloning the first fruit on the culture should get me something useful, I'm thinking.
Ain't it cute?

Do it. It should be sterile.
I had trouble getting clean cultures too until I started taking big meaty pieces in the base of the stems, where it's thickest. Also to make lots of plates per fruit because chances are one will get contaminated.
Some also clone onto antibacterial plates. Lots of members like to run at least 1 transfer on antibacterial plates to keep contamination down.

Anything that can pin invitro with just a little GE is usually a strong fruiter IME. That little bastard looks beefy too. Would love to see him in action in a mono or something

Yeah, I tried all kinds of ways and I always got nada. Might get some antibacterial agar - been a long time since I used that.
My thinking is this is the first pin to pop up and it should yield a pretty good culture.

You got it. It's a fat ass for sure - well we'll see more of this. In the meantime, my PE swab from a couple years back (stored in the fridge) germinated almost immediately and I've got nothing but clean myc coming off it, so I'm stoked for future grows at the moment.
