Spent BRF cakes outdoor grow.

As the title states i decided to use my spent cakes, as well as the sketchy one that i deemed possibly contaminated to start an outdoor grow patch.
I used 9 plus spent/sketchy cakes of various stains and threw them in a small hole in the ground not really expecting much if anything.
At first i only had potting soil over them but decided to throw some extra hpoo/straw substrate on them.
I selected a shady area that only receives direct sunlight for a very minimal time per day.
It took about a month but after checking on them once a week at most I'm finally starting to see some fruits!
I decided to let nature do its thing on this grow and not interfere at all (besides salt ring for slugs).
Overall im not expecting to get a huge harvest from this just happy to see them growing in something besides a container inside.
i harvested 3 fruits already and there are a few more that ill pick in a day. They aren't big or weigh much but still pretty stoked with how it turned out.
Thanks for looking!

Nice! I love seeing spent substrates keep going. Even better you can give them some coir and gypsum when you throw them out and add some nutrients again.
My spent sub just made its first lonely fruit. Really dry since its been around 80 degrees so the cap cracked a lot.

I live in zone 6A. Summers are pretty warm here and we get rain fairly often.
I don't expect them to make it through the winter but If they make it to that point I'll be happy!
