The kind of stuff available now wasn't around 10 or even 5 years ago, it used to be that there was no real effective alternative to smoking cigs, that is no longer the case
I think you should just be supportive of someone trying to quit nicotine. If you cant quit, that's OK, but some dont want to be in the clutches of nicotine at all.

True, but getting a vape with any kind of nicotine is going to damper quitting cigs, especially if he gets a high nic content juice. Ive seen it a LOT, not just in myself but others, and many times people vape and smoke. Plenty dont, but its not uncommon.

If you can quit cold turkey...do it, I wanted to but I'm really just too weak to be able to. But if you want to stay off cigs and you find yourself ready to slip, I highly recommend buying a vape.
Tried quitting sooooooooo many times and failed miserably and the longest I've made it was 2 days, this sunday will be 2 full months I haven't touched a cig. Went from age 12-23 on cigs and never made it longer than 2 days (unless you count the 6 months I was dipping instead of smoking) to two months immediately because of vaping and already switched to lower nicotine levels. Since you already made it 5 days I would say just keep going and stay away, but if you find yourself at a point where you are definitely going to cave, I would strongly recommend buying a vape, they really do wonders and I feel so much better and am still noticing improvements.
Even with the vape I still crave cigs sometimes though, real desperate cravings, but they are farther apart then they've ever been, and usually brought on by something like eating, or drinking or something like that, but I just hit the vape a few times and it passes.
Good luck though dude, I hope you're stronger than me and just stay off it for good, something tells me I'm not getting off vapes because I'm starting to enjoy them a lot.

My wife quit cold turkey and is one of the only people I know who did, because I told her I couldn't be with her if she was a smoker.
But most of the other people I know who quit did so with E-cigarettes.
Why torture yourself with nicotine withdrawal when you can get the nicotine and the simulated act of smoking, putting something in your mouth, holding something in your fingers, inhaling, exhaling smoke, flavor and all that stuff, while also possibly saving your life?
My advice, buy a great E cig and E liquid, then TRY YOUR HARDEST to cold turkey but if you crack and can't do it, you will have the e cig ready so you wont relapse with actual smokes.
Good for all of you trying to quit. Tobacco really is an evil monstrous motherfucking bitch reaper of a drug.

The main difference between vaping and smoking for me is that I fucking love vaping, whereas I hated smoking cigarettes

Good job Rebelutionsss! Five days is a great start!!!
Keep being strong and don't touch a cig again.
Once some one smokes cigs for long enough they forget what life is like without them and they have much trouble making the lifestyle switch back to sobriety.
Take it from me, a guy who doesn't smoke cigs: life without cigs is amazing. I can breathe deeply and cleanly. I am healthy.
I am not constantly having my mind switch to "i want a cig". This habit inhibits you from staying focused on a single task for a long period of time, which makes you less productive overall, which makes you not be the best you can be. I am not constantly having my hands fixated on holding something and being a slave to it. I am free.
I support quitting cigs cold turkey without the use of vaping. IF you have tried quitting cigs for a long time and somehow don't have the willpower to do so, even knowing that cigs will kill you, then I would recommend vaping. But seriously, just quit cold turkey. Stop hanging out with friends who smoke cigs. If they give you shit about it then tell them to find a new friend. Go to meet up groups on meetup.com if you need new friends. Hit up friends you haven't talked to in a while. Tell a close friend what you're going through. Don't contain your feelings to yourself. Find something to replace smoking with, such as working out, drawing, painting, making music. Start working more hours so you aren't sitting around bored and are more tempted to smoke.

Congrats on two months with no cigs! That's awesome!
Glad to hear you are feeling healthier, too.
Perhaps quitting alcohol is needed if it is a catalyst for you wanting to smoke cigs. Alcohol makes you prone to not acting how you want to act, thus resulting in regret.
And the only thing telling you you aren't getting off vapes is yourself. If you would be happier both not vaping and not smoking then just do it. But not smokings cigs is good.

You have been putting something into your lungs from the age of 12. You don't even know what it's like to not do that. I would highly recommend quitting all activities that have you inhaling something into your lungs. You will find a new feeling of freedom and strength that you will be surprised by. If you never try then you'll never know.

I wouldn't either, but I'm not gonna rag (not saying you are for the record) on him for suggesting it. I mean Maka's post was funny, but honestly they helped him quit smoking and now he just wants to share the success the same way all us e cig people do. Can't really blame him for that.

I quit smoking like 5-6 years ago, can't even really remember. I quit smoking cigs by rolling my own. I eventually just got tired of rolling my cigs and buying the pouch tobacco. I basically just got the pouch to quench the craving of nicotine.
It use to be the case that every time I would see a person smoking a cig in their car at a stop light it would make me want one. Then I got into the e-cigs years after I quit smoking. I genuinely prefer vapor to smoke with weed, so with nicotine it's not any different.
I was on the ecigs for a year or so. Go into dripping then just quit that cold turkey. Literally didn't even have any real cravings. Fuck, sugar is 100x more addicting that straight nicotine to me. Nicotine by itself doesn't even seem that addicting or that big of a deal to me.
It's all the other shit in the cigs and the combustion that seems to be the main culprit and disgusting part. Now cigs just smell gross and literally don't like being around them. Only real exception is at festivals when half the people smoke like chimneys.
Inhaling something is a genuine past time, a seemingly timeless act that transcends human history. I love smoking as a concept, just wish it wasn't so unhealthy. Vaping though is vastly superior.

Vaping's great it and as much as I love it, ecig vaping borderlines with an adult pacifier with a lot of people. That's when I quit the ecig's... When I recognized it an adult pacifier. Lol. It's still great though, not going to lie about that.

You're no asshole. You're simply being logical and practical. Anyone that thinks a tampon made by big tobacco is a better alternative to quit smoking than e-cigs deserves a real and very large rubber dildo stuck in them.
