I posted a pic here recently of a variegated Loph that I have grafted to a pereskiopsis. Here it is.

Upon further study of this lophs newer growth I've noticed that it's putting out areoles all over the place in no specific manner like all my others.
I'll snap a pic here in a lil while to upload here so you guys can chime in a bit on what you think.
I know I'll need to graft it to a more stable stock like Mostly said but it's still a VERY strange specimen
Here's an older pic of the top I just found.

Yeah it is! That's my favorite out of the pics you sent me.

I'm really hoping for full blown monstrose traits. He's already variegated so he'd be double trouble then
Also so everyone know the large variegated emergency graft looks good so far and the base loft on the stock id drying nicely. I think I might have actually nipped it in the bud soon enough
Good to see you on here Matt?
Keep my graft and base in all your prayers to whoever you pray to

Good to hear. Im sure I was annoying you, but it was important that you did it ASAP to save the genetics.

Not to be a debby downer, and I don't even have any lophs, but from my experience with trichs I can say that new growth pups can look all sorts of funky. Hoping you get what you want though!

I haven't even snapped the new pic that I was planning to. I will after I've had a couple drinks or in the morning at least. I know your right about grafts but I really think something is seriously off with this one for some reason. It's not symmetrical like every other one I've grafted.
