ID Request - Rocky Mountains USA
    #21767922 - 06/05/15 10:14 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

Found these in the wild, dried out but still in the ground

Habitat: Dry, Hot, been raining a lot though. the mushrooms were in the more vegetated parts of the trails under/near trees.

Location: Horse Trail right next to the Rockies

Gills:Black

Stem: Curvy, purple, green, black, shiny, inside almost looks like one bigger hollow hole in the middle with several canals filling up the rest around the center. Ring around about mid way up the stem - hard to get a better description without destroying them since they are dried out.

Spore Print: To dry for a print

Scent: Hard to describe, earthy, slight tinge of... pungent? dried shit maybe? Unique smell, not like any mushrooms I get from the store.

Bruises They are dry but it has a hearty amount of green, purple, and black on some of the dryer ones - they glisten in the light.

Other Found these on a horse trail, it's been raining a ton out here but only drizzled today was hot and dry today and yesterday. most of them seemed to be growing out of old, degraded manure - some were pretty nicely buried in the wood chips/dirt.

I guess you'll need a microscope to get anywhere near an identification.

I see what looks like a persistent annulus. Do I see rusty brown in some of those gills? Not sure.

Unfortunately my phone didn't seem to do them justice.

There is one top that has a rust brown color in some parts, it's pretty dried out not sure if that would affect it.

The others are pitch black, almost with a dark purple hue. The stems are definitely a purple color in most parts, some have a a dark green on them as well.

One of them appears to not have gills? but like a white solid ring around the under part of the top, it might be a different type all together.

You'd not be able to identify these mushrooms whatever camera you got. They are too dry.

Yours are not psychoactive. But quite likely to be toxic. Don't even think about trying to eat them.
