Can you use salvia extract orally??
    #21766579 - 06/05/15 04:21 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

I've been fascinated with oral salvia for a long time, I just never got my hands on any leaves to try it out. I have few grams of 20x lying around and I'm not too keen on smoking it. (Besides a puff or two while coming down from 2c-b every now and then. These 2 seem to have a nice synergy..)

I'm wondering if you could use salvia extract orally. Is there some special technique involved?

Perhaps someone with more knowledge can share some light on the matter..

You cant get much out of taking salvia orally although traditionally it is occasionally made into a tea it is never straight eaten, most of the time the leaves are chewed and held in the mouth for a while

This method would work with salvia extract

If you believe that, I respectfully request you read this article by Professor Bret Blosser - yes - the guy responsible for the "Blosser" salvia strain.  I believe you will find that the truth is quite to the contrary.  He had several mind-fucking trips nibbling on a quid of salvia in a traditional setting.  Please read his fascinating account:

http://www.academia.edu/1857658/Lessons_in_The_Use_of_Mazatec_Psychoactive_Plants

Here's a small excerpt:

"As I began to nibble the leaves "R" orated in Mazatec. He called upon a number of saints, especially San Pedro and San Pablo, and mentioned my full name a couple of times. I assumed that he was recommending me into the care of the Saints responsible for this sort of undertaking. The leaves were bitter, but not unbearably so, and a bit rough. In a few minutes an engaging pattern appeared on the altar table. The candle was put out and the room became totally dark. Thunder sounded in the distance. As I nibbled my way towards the leaf-stems, it became difficult to find my face. I was not alarmed by the apparent potency of the leaves and the rapid onset of the effects. I was determined to consume the entire amount and made the effort to continue until I had chewed up the leaf-stems.I never noticed the transition. I was not aware that I had eaten an entheogenic plant, was in Mexico, was with friends, or had ever had a body. I was engulfed in a complex, fluctuating environment. Much hung in the balance. I was facing awesome challenges and knew that I lacked the skills to deal effectively with them. However, I also knew that I might somehow do OK. I remember very little of this first plunge into the world of the
hojas, but towards the end I recall an intricate, neon-pastel, slick-lit, all encompassing, non-Euclidian topography. This sense of a distinctive topography has characterized each of my Mazatec
Salvia experiences. Of course, what I can describe begs the question of what I cannot describe: being out of the three dimensions and linear time."

I heard that you can mix it up with some bubble gum and chew on it for a while.

you could probably work out the math as to how much to use if you could figure out how much salvinorin is found on an average leaf and multiply that by 26 (Mazatecs use 13 pairs I think). Then divide that number by the extract strength and you should have some kind of idea.

I'm pretty sure that you would have to chew much more than what would kick your ass via smoking.

I've quidded one time and I just sort of lost track of time - not sure what all happened to be quite honest. Smoking plain leaf is the best imo!

Ive never had luck with oral extract, but I have with plain leaf which to me is kind of weird.  But it wouldnt be the first time this plant has defied my logic..
