Colonized rye and substrate not mixing very well?

Hey guys. This is my first monotub, sorry for the terrible picture but I didn't want to open the lid and I had a window of clear wrap to see through.
I mixed the colonized rye with verm/coir substrate at 2:1 ratio. The rye seems to be over-colonizing and not spreading into the substrate at all. Isn't it supposed to colonize evenly? I must have done something wrong. It's like the rye is continuing to grow mycelium but the substrate is still just 100% verm/coir.
I mixed everything evenly, pasteurized perfectly, made the perfect substrate and had very healthy mycelium in perfect conditions..

Keep on keepin on brotha! I'm sure you'll hear lots of opinions but if your seeing healthy contam free growth you should be feeling good
Rye has been proven by a lot of universities to be myceliums grain of choice (not that a million other things don't also work) It's got tons of points of contact for growth, internal h2o, and the right nutrients. Most bulk subs are simply there for extra room and moisture. Hope this helps, feel proud of your tub, looks great!

Your good... that's exactly what it's supposed to look like...the mycellium is on the colonized rye, you mixed it with your sub...now what you are seeing is the mycellium expanding from your rye berries into your sub...

Did you use 2 parts substrate per 1 part grain spawn or vice versa?
Spawn ratios are written as 1:2, 1:4, 1:10 etc; where the 1 = spawn and the 2nd number = substrate.
Either way your tub looks fine but I have noticed diminished yields when using a spawn ratio higher than 1:1!

Yeah I used 2 parts substrate for 1 parts rye. Actually it was 7 jars of sub and 3 jars of rye. Is it okay for the rye to be overly fluffy with myc while the substrate looks plain and empty?
